Priscilla Queen of the Desert Broadway Show – Three Drag Queens Head into the Australian Outback

Don’t miss your chance to see this classic film adaptation on the Broadway stage. Find out more at Applause-Tickets.com!
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
When The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert first hit the silver screen in 1994, the themes of sexuality, bigotry, and acceptance were especially relevant. The Australian film made history with its hilarious yet frank telling of the story of two drag queens and one transsexual who make their way across the Australian outback on their way to a show in a small town called Alice Springs.

The film provided the basis for the stage version of the story which opened in 2006 in Sydney, Australia to rave reviews. The show is now set to open on Broadway’s Palace Theatre Stage on March 20 with previews beginning February 28. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Broadway show tells the story of three friends who venture into the Australian Outback on their way to a new job in the remote town of Alice Springs. The travelers include two drags queens and a transsexual woman who are set to perform nightly for a four week engagement at a hotel in Alice Springs. They rent a bus that they name Priscilla and set off on their grand adventure, meeting all kinds of characters along the way.

Some of the people they meet are not very keen on the idea of two homosexual men and one transsexual woman travelling through their town and choose violent means to express their homophobic opposition. You will be inspired by the humor, grace and dignity with which the group of travelers faces this hatred and bigotry. Their story of triumph is one that is still relatable to audiences everywhere.

Don’t miss your opportunity to see Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Broadway show. Call Applause-Tickets today to reserve your seats at this hilarious new Broadway hit!

Jersey Boys Is Still The One To See On The Great White Way

Has it really been five years since Jersey Boys opened on Broadway? Where has the time gone? Yet here we are in 2011 and the show is just as popular as it was when it first opened in December 2005. Now while I didn't get the chance to see the show until almost two years into it's run I only heard good things about the show.

After all a show that won the Tony Award for Best Musical had to be good right? Wrong. It was great. I would definitely put it in my "Top Ten" Broadway shows that I have seen and trust me I have seen a lot of shows in nineteen years. I'm sure by now most people have seen the show. However if you haven't then there really is no better time that right now.

Good seats are available for all performances. In fact because the theatre is so small there is not a bad sit in the house. I myself saw the show from the last row of the Mezzanine on the side and had a total full view. How many theatres can say that? That means if I can see from there so can you. Get your tickets to see Jersey Boys on Broadway. You will have the time of your life.

Buying Theatre Tickets

So here I sit on a cold Sunday morning trying to figure out something to blog about. Oh sure I guess I could talk about Spider-Man and all it's problems. Been there. Done that. Maybe I could write about Jersey Boys or Rock of Ages. Now while both shows are personal favorites of mine there is only so much you can write about them week after week without sounding repetitive.

Therefore I would like to talk about something else today. Being in the profession I am in I talk to different people every day. From travel agents to regular people who are looking to get the best seats at the best price. Makes sense right? Broadway tickets are expensive. Especially in the last few years. We all know that. The thing is it wasn't always like that.

However there is hope on the horizon. If you want to save money you have to be willing to do a little homework. Take your time and shop around a little bit. Eventually you will find a price that works for you. Now I know that Applause is not the only game in town. We are one of many licensed ticket agents in New York City. That will never change.

There will always be somebody else out there that says that their tickets are better or that they have lower prices than anybody else. I can't change that. Nor would I want too. All I can tell you is that when you call Applause not only are you getting someone that knows what they are talking about but honestly wants to give you the best deal they can..

Now you don't have to tell me how lucky I am that I get to live and work in one of the greatest cities in the world. Some people will never get the chance to experience New York or a Broadway show for that matter. For some it will be a once in a lifetime experience. Therefore wouldn't you want to make sure it is one that you will remember for the rest of your life? It's your money after all. Until next time theatre fans.

Toronto Critic Reviews Spider-Man:Turn Off The Dark

That's right theatre fans. More Spider-Man drama. Now if you're like me you are probably tired of hearing about the show day in and day out. To be honest I really couldn't care less about the show anymore. Yes I saw it and yes I did not care for it as did all of my colleagues. You know what? It doesn't really matter what I think. Despite the bad press the show is doing very well at the box office and really that's all that counts. The show which has postponed it's opening night a record four times in the last few months in now scheduled to officially open on March 15. Some critics have decided not to wait and have posted their reviews already. Yesterday the critic from the Toronto star posted his take on the $65 million dollar musical. Enjoy. Until next time theatre fans.

Save This Winter On Tony Winner Memphis The Musical

Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Musical is Memphis. The show which opened to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike at the historic Shubert Theatre on Broadway in October 2009 is one of Broadway's hottest selling shows. Now believe it or not but that was not always the case. While the show did receive great acclaim sales did not really take off until it won Broadway's highest honor. In fact most were expecting the show would close within a matter of months.

Thank goodness the producers of Memphis believed in the show or we might not be talking about it today. Hopefully it will be around for many years to come. Now for those of you who want tickets to see this award winning musical there is no better time than the present. From now thru March 13 good seats are now available at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that this "Special Offer" is good for select seats only and subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Memphis on Broadway. You will love it. I know I did.

Seven Years And Counting Wicked Remains Broadway's Hottest Selling Show

Now in it's 7th year on Broadway is Wicked. Most people forget that the show did not receive very good reviews when it first opened. Yet the show remains Broadway's most popular show year in and year out. Take that critics. Not only that but it continues to break box office records at theatres all around the world.Having seen the show in previews I knew it would be a big seller but I never expected it to be the mega hit that it has become since then.

Since I began working for Applause seven years ago I can honestly say that not only is Wicked our most requested show but is the one show that everyone in my office agrees is one of the best they have ever seen. Trust me when I say that does not happen too often with this group. Now having said all of that you might be thinking that getting tickets to see Wicked might be difficult.

Not at all. Want to see Wicked on a Saturday night? Give us a call. How about next week? No problem. We have tickets to all performances. Now what if you want to see Wicked but you don't want to come to New York? Good news. Not only do we sell Wicked on Broadway but we sell it for London and every city in between. Now how can you beat that? Until next time theatre fans.

Broadway Revival of Driving Miss Daisy Now Available For Below Face Value

That's right theatre fans. Thanks to the friendly ticket experts at Applause you can now get your hands on one of this season's hottest shows. I am of course talking about the Broadway revival of Driving Miss Daisy. The show which opened to rave reviews at the John Golden Theatre in October of last year stars Tony winners Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones, and Boyd Gaines. Now while I loved the 1989 Academy Award winning film I have never seen the stage version.

Normally we get invited to see all the new shows prior to opening that way when people call and what we thought of the show we can give them our honest opinion on what we thought. However because this show was so popular we never got an invite. Cut to three months into it's run and we finally get invited. Now did I get to see it?

No. Because I was on vacation. I guess I'm destined never to see it. Enough about me. After all you came here to find out how you can see Driving Miss Daisy for less right? So let's get to it. From now thru March 25 you can get tickets to see this beloved classic for below face value. Be advised that while this offer is good thru that date it is not valid for Saturday matinee or evening performances. Get your tickets to see Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway. You will love it.

Get Tickets To See Mamma Mia For Below Face Value

That's right theatre fans. The world's most popular musical is now available at prices that can't be beat. Now while I personally have never seen the show there is no denying it's popularity. In fact this year Mamma Mia will celebrate it's tenth anniversary on the Great White Way. Not bad for a show that was built around twenty-three ABBA songs. Since the show first premiered in the West End in April 1999 it has been seen by over 42 million people and has grossed $2 billion dollars worldwide. Looks like it's here to stay my friends. Now as I mentioned today's blog is to tell you about how you can now get tickets to see Mamma Mia and save at the same time. This "Special Offer" is good thru March 5 so don't delay. London Theatre

Planning a trip across the pond in the near future? Now I personally have never been to London. To be honest the only time I leave New York is to visit my parent's once or twice a year in Illinois. Not exactly the same I know. However if I was going to travel over there I'm sure I would have to take in a show or two. How about you? London is home to classic plays as well as some of the theatre's most exciting new musicals.

How about Love Never Dies the highly anticipated sequel to The Phantom of the Opera. Now while the reviews for the show were not as good as most had hoped it continues to be one of London's hottest selling shows. Another show which continues to pack them in night after night is Dirty Dancing based on the 1987 movie of the same name. Now what if musicals aren't your thing?

How about the new revival of The Children's Hour with Kiera Knightley, Elizabeth Moss, and Ellen Burstyn which began previews last week. Or how about Much Ado About Nothing by none other than Mr. William Shakespeare. You've all heard of him right? With all these choices how can you possibly go wrong? Give us a call and let Applause Theatre Service give you a theatrical experience that you will never forget. What do you have to lose?

Premium Seating

Now I don't know about you but when it comes to buying theatre tickets I don't really care where I sit as long as it's a full view. I could be in the last row of the theater and it wouldn't bother me in the least. In fact when I saw Jersey Boys I was in the last row of the Mezzanine on the side and saw everything.

Now for some of you the Rear Mezzanine just won't do. I happen to like the Mezzanine but I know some people don't. Some people have to sit in the "First Ten Rows Center" and nothing else will do. I myself don't have that kind of money but if you've got it to spend then why not? I mean nothing beat's the experience of seeing a Broadway show. You can't put a price tag on that.

Well you can but you know what I mean. Anyway back to the reason for today's blog. Nowadays you can purchase Premium tickets to almost every Broadway show as well as few Off-Broadway ones as well. Like I said they don't come cheap. But let's face it. Nothing is cheap anymore. Everything has a price. It's up to you to decide if the price is worth it. Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story

This week's customer story comes all the way from Los Altos, California. Late in the day yesterday I received a call from a woman who was hoping to get tickets to see Wicked in Mid-February. Prior to calling our company she told me that she had spent most of the afternoon checking out other ticket websites and was not having much luck.

Either the prices were too high or they simply didn't have the type of seats that she was looking for. I told her that I would do my best to get her what she wanted and hopefully at a lower price then she was seeing from some of our competitors. Well she loved that. So after finding out what day she wanted to go I set out to find her seats.

She mentioned that she was looking for seats in Row H or better in the Orchestra. I told her that while I didn't have anything like that I did have 2 very nice seats in Row K of the Orchestra three seats off the aisle. Which by the way is only fifteen rows from the stage. Plus it was at a rate that was lower than she was expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Phantom Celebrates Anniversary

January 26, 1988. Anyone care to guess what happened on that date? Give up? That my friends is the day that The Phantom of the Opera opened on the Great White Way. Has it really been twenty-three years? My how time flies. The show which first premiered in the West End in 1986 is currently the longest running show in Broadway history with no end in sight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the show ran another ten years or more. We shall see.

By the way for those of you who have yet to see the show there is no better time than the present. Broadway Musical Catch Me If You Can Now On Sale

That's right theatre fans. One of this season's most highly anticipated new shows is now on sale. Catch Me If You Can is set to begin previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on March 7 with opening night scheduled for April 10. The show which first premiered at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre in late 2009 features a score Tony winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman who scored a big hit nine years ago with Hairspray.

They will be joined by fellow Tony winners and Hairspray alum Jack O'Brien (Director) and Jerry Mitchell (Choreographer). Will lighting strike twice? Of all the new musicals coming in I think it has a good shot if you ask me. Now believe it or not but I have never seen the movie. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe I will check it out after I see the show. Now for those of you like me that are not familiar with the story here is a brief synopsis from a production source.

"Catch Me If You Can captures the astonishing true story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., a world-class con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, a lawyer, and a jet pilot — all before the age of 21. With straight-arrow FBI agent Carl Hanratty on Frank's trail, we're off on a jet-setting, cat-and-mouse chase, as a jazzy, swinging-sixties score keeps this adventure in constant motion. In the end, Agent Hanratty learns he and Frank aren't so very different after all, and Frank finds out what happens when love catches up to a man on the run."

Sounds interesting to me. How about you? I for one hope it does well as Broadway could really use a big fat hit. Keep your fingers crossed. By the way for those of you that want to see the show you have come to the right place. From now thru May 8 you can purchase tickets to Catch Me If You Can at a reduced rate.Get your tickets to see Catch Me If You Can On Broadway. Good seats are still available so don't delay. Call now. Buying Theatre Tickets On The Web

Having worked at Applause for almost seven years now I can honestly say that I have seen and heard it all. From selling tickets to every show on and Off-Broadway to helping customers find the best restaurants I have had the privilege of speaking to thousands of people during my tenure here. Now I am smart enough to know that we are not the only game in town. Were not even the only broker on our block. As we all know buying anything online can be difficult. Heck it can be down right confusing. With all the different websites out there how do you know who is legitimate and who is not? I always tell people that whether they buy from us or somebody else to try and find a company that has a telephone number so that you can actually speak to someone.Tickets are expensive nowadays. You are entitled to get what you pay for. Now believe it or not but there are legitimate companies out there. In fact I would say 75% or more of the brokers in the country are not only licenced but are there to help you get the best deal you possibly can. If they didn't then you would never buy from them again right? Look the point is whether you go thru Applause or anybody else take your time. Shop around. Then decide what works best for you. It's your dollar after all.

Customer Story

That's right theatre fans. It's time for the customer story of the week. Now since I was on vacation last week I had to go back and look at the previous week's sales to find one to write about. Luckily for me I have a good memory. Earlier this month I received a call from a very nice lady who was planning a trip to New York and wanted to see a show while she was here.

I asked her what she wanted to see and she told me her husband was a big Johnny Cash fan and had heard from a friend of his that there was a musical about him playing on Broadway. Right away I knew she was talking about Million Dollar Quartet. For those of you that are not familiar with the show here is a brief description from the shows website.

"On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll,' who discovered them all. The four legends-to-be united for the only time in their careers for an impromptu recording that has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time".

Sounds like a winner to me. By the way I saw the show last Summer and had the time of my life. So anyway now that I knew what she wanted to see it was time to find out when she and her husband would be here. Since they were planning on staying for a week they didn't care when they went. They just wanted the best seats.

I told them that since February is still considered a slow time in New York I would not only be able to get then excellent seats but also at a reduced rate. After doing a little research I was able to find here two excellent seats in the third row center of the Front Mezzanine and at a rate the was even lower than I thought.

Not only was she thrilled with the price but she called back a few days later and bought tickets see The Addams Family from my colleague as well. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Sister Act On Broadway

Earlier today I posted a blog about the new musical Catch Me If You Can where I stated that I thought that the show which is set to begin previews in March is one of this season's most highly anticipated new shows. Well move over Catch Me If You Can because you my friends have got some competition. I am course talking about none other than Sister Act. Now unless you've been living under a rock you know that the show is based on the 1992 movie starring the one and only Miss Whoopi Goldberg. Who by the way is producing the Broadway show.

The show which features a score by eight time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors,Beauty and the Beast) first premiered in 2006 at the Pasadena Playhouse where it became the highest grossing show in it's theatre's history. Except for a brief engagement in 2007 at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta the show would not be seen again until June 2009 when it opened at the London Palladium in the West End. It was there that the show would achieve it's biggest success.

Previews for the show are set to begin on March 24 with opening night scheduled for April 20. Playing the lead role is Patina Miller who originated the part in London where she received rave reviews and was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Now while I loved the movie I am not so sure if I am going to like the show. Who knows? I've been wrong before. I will reserve my judgement until I see it. Maybe I'll see you there. Until next time theatre fans.

That's right fans. One of this season's most highly anticipated shows is now on sale. The Book of Mormon which is set to begin previews at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on February 24 is the brainchild of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony Award winner Robert Lopez (Avenue Q). Opening night is March 24. I don't know about you but I am really looking forward to seeing this show and I'm sure that I am not the only one.

It's no secret that the show is bound to offend a few people. I take that back. It will probably offend a lot of people. You know what I have to say to that? Don't go see it. Nobody is putting a gun to your head. If you don't want to see it then don't buy a ticket. It's as simple as that. Now for those of you who like me who want to see the show then you have come to the right place my friends.

From now thru April 24 you can get tickets to see The Book of Mormon for prices that can't be beat. Be advised that this "Special Offer" is good for all performances excluding opening night and subject to availability. Get your tickets to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway. Broadway Revival Of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying Now On Sale

In case you've been living under a rock for the last few months you are probably aware that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be making his Broadway musical debut this Spring in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The show which first premiered on Broadway in October 1961 is set to begin previews at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on February 26. Opening night is scheduled for March 27.

Having seen the last revival in 1995 with Matthew Broderick and future television and Broadway star Megan Mullally. Now when I saw it in the fall of 1995 it starred John Stamos. To my surprise he was very good.In fact I actually saw it twice with him in the leading role. Starring along side Mr.Radcliffe is television and film star John Larroquette as his boss and mentor J.B. Biggley.

Now while most people will probably say that it is too soon for a revival I have one thing to say to you. Gypsy. I take that back. I have two things to say to you. La Cage Aux Follies. Now while both revivals were critically acclaimed and won many awards it had only been five years between productions. It;s been almost fifteen since How To Succeed closed. I say it's about time Broadway had a good old fashioned musical back on the boards. What do you think? Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story

This week's customer story comes all the way from Raleigh,North Carolina. Late last week I received a call from a very nice lady who was looking to come into the city early next month and wanted to see a show while they were here. I asked here if she had a show in mind and she mentioned that she was a big Bebe Neuwirth fan and really wanted to see The Addams Family while she was here. I told her that shouldn't be a problem since the show has been playing for almost a year and early February is normally a slow month. Therefore I was able to get her excellent seats in the Front Mezzanine for......wait for it......below face value. For those of you that are not familiar with that term is means that we can get you tickets for less that what you would spend at the box office. Who doesn't love a bargain? I know I do. Plus I was able to recommend several restaurants for her and her family to check out while they were here. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Broadway's Mamma Mia Still Packing Them In Eight Times A Week At The Winetrgarden Theatre

Now in it's 10th record breaking year on Broadway is Mamma Mia. The show which first opened in the West End in 1999 continues to delight audiences around the world week in and week out. Now I personally have never seen the show. To be honest a musical with a bunch of ABBA songs is really not my idea of a fun evening in the theatre. Since it began Mamma Mia has grossed almost $2 Billion dollars. I guess the means people like it huh? Now for those of you who want to see the show you couldn't have picked a better time of the year. From now thru March 5 you can tickets to see Mamma Mia for prices that are.....wait for it.....below face value. Get your tickets to see Mamma Mia on Broadway. They don't call it the "World's Most Popular Musical" for nothing after all. Good seats are still available so call now.

A Day In The Life Of A Ticket Broker

So here I sit on a cold Sunday morning. As expected we did not get as much snow as they had predicted. In less then eight hours I will be sitting in my seat at the Richard Rodgers Theatre anxiously awaiting the final performance of In The Heights. I'm sure it is going to be an emotional evening for all involved. Now while I am sad to see it go I know that it will not be soon forgotten. Besides In The Heights there are a total of fourteen other shows closing this month. The good news is that between now and the end of April there will be eighteen new shows opening on the Great White Way. That my friends is good news. Broadway could use a hit. Which ones will succeed and which ones will fail? I for one hope they all do well. We shall see. Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story

This week's customer story comes all the way from Ellijay,Georgia. Early last week I received a call from a travel agent who was looking to purchase tickets for her clients who were planning a last minute to New York at the end of the month and wanted to see two shows while they were here. After finding out when they would be here I asked what they would like to see.

Their fist choice was Mamma Mia which while still one of Broadway's most popular shows has been playing for over nine years. That means that not only should it be east to get tickets but also at a lower rate as January is the time when less people come into the city.

So not only was able to get her fabulous seats in the 5th row on the aisle but at a rate that was lower than she expected. Now that the first show was all taken care of I asked what the would like to see for show number two. They had mentioned that a friend of hers had seen The Addams Family this past Summer and loved it. Once again I was able to get them excellent seats and at a great price. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Broadway's Most "Popular" Show Is Still Wicked

Now in it's sixth sold out year on Broadway is Wicked. The show which is Broadway's highest selling show opened on Broadway in October 2003 and continues to break box office records year after year. In fact during the last week in December it beat the year before with a weekly total of $2,228,235. Not too bad for a show that didn't get very good reviews when it first opened. Take that critics.

Now while The Phantom of the Opera remains Broadway's longest running show I could one day see Wicked surpassing it. That is if Phantom ever closes. Don't count on it anytime soon my friends. Phantom like the Pedestrian Area in Times Square is here to stay. That is until Mayor Bloomberg leaves office. Now most people forget that the show lost the Tony Award for Best Musical to Avenue Q.

Actually I take that back. Wicked fans around the world will never forget the night that they witnessed the "Biggest Upset In Tony History". I for one loved Avenue Q and am happy to say that it is still running. Even if it is now at an Off-Broadway Theatre. Now while I was happy that the underdog won I am equally happy with the success that Wicked has had. If it it wasn't for Wicked and shows like The Lion King and Jersey Boys I wouldn't have a job. Now you don't want that to happen do you? Until next time theatre fans.

Five Years Later And Jersey Boys Is Still Going Strong

That's right theatre fans. Jersey Boys is still the show to see in 2011. Now while Wicked may be Broadway's top selling show Jersey Boys is not far behind. There is not a day that goes by that I don't get at least ten or fifteen calls from people who are dying to see the show. Not only that but most of those people have already seen it more than once and want to see it again. No wonder it's so popular. I myself didn't see it until almost two years into it's run. Now while I enjoy the music I was worried that the show would not live up to all the hype. Few shows seldom do my friends. Once again I was wrong. Not only did I love the show but I would have to say that it is in my "Top 10" of shows that I have seen on Broadway. Trust me. I have seen a lot of shows in my eighteen years in New York. Some good. Some bad. That's the great thing about the New York theatre scene. So much to choose from. Live theatre. There is nothing like it. Until next time theatre fans.

Broadway's Rock Of Ages To Close This Sunday/Reopen In March

Don't worry Rock of Ages fans. Your favorite show won't be gone for long. Just a couple of months. The show which has been entertaining folks of all ages since March 2009 will play it's final performance this Sunday. While it's first performance has not been officially announced it is set to reopen at the end of March at the much smaller Helen Hayes Theatre. How small you ask? A difference of 410 seats to be exact. Here is a statement from lead producer Matthew Weaver regarding the move. "On a macro level, we think this move allows us to run on Broadway for another two years, if not longer, and should allow us to stay open in time for the Rock of Ages movie to open in 2012. It will be a big help to the movie if the musical is still running on Broadway, and vice versa." Sounds like a good idea to me. I for one loved the show and hope it runs for a very long time. Keep buying tickets to see it and it will. Until next time theatre fans.

The Phantom Of The Opera To Celebrate Anniversary

Can you believe it's been almost 23 years since The Phantom of The Opera first opened on Broadway? I sure can't. Yet here we are in 2011 and it still remains one of the most popular shows on the Great White Way. I like many first became familiar with the show when the cast recording came out in 1988 and one immediately hooked. Now I didn't actually see the show until almost five years later. I will admit that even though I was excited about finally seeing it I was a little worried that it might not live up to my high expectations. Well once again I was wrong. Now while it is not my favorite show of all time it does have it's place. It wouldn't have lasted as long as it did if it didn't. It is one of Broadway's most romantic shows after all. Now when it was first announced that the show was coming to Broadway fresh off a sold run in Chicago I was very excited. I mean who wouldn't want to see a musical about Elvis Presley,Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins. To be honest I wasn't all that familiar with the last one. I always thought Elvis wrote "Blue Suede Shoes". Who knew it was Carl Perkins? Anyway weather you are a fan of the them or not you will have the night of your life. Broadway's Lombardi Now On Sale Thru June

That's right theatre fans. Or should I say football fans at this point. Lombardi, which is based on football legend and former Green Bay Packer's coach Vince Lomabardi recently announced that the critically acclaimed drama has opened up a new block of seats thru June 19,2011. Now while I personally have not seen the show I have only heard good things about it. The show which opened at the Circle In The Square Theatre on October 21 stars Dan Laurie (TV's The Wonder Years) as Vince and Judith Light (Who's The Boss, Ugly Betty) as his loving and supportive wife Marie. Now while the show was praised by both critics and audiences alike it was not a hit at first.

However with football season in swing and the backing of the NFL the show looks to be around for awhile. That's great news as there are in the last few years there have been very few plays on Broadway by American playwrights. Now don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good Tom Stoppard or Eugene O'Neill play everyone in a while. I just wish we had more plays like August:Osage County and Time Stands Still. By the way for those of you who still haven't seen Lombardi yet you have come to the right place. From now thru February 20 you can get tickets to see Lombardi for below face value. Plus the fact that the show is performed in the round mean that there is not a bad seat in the house. Good seats are still available so call now.

Now for those of you travel agents out there that have never heard of Applause I just have one thing to say to you?

What are you waiting for people? Now I know that we are not the only game in town. What we do best is make it easier for you and here is how. So let's say that you are a travel agent and a client comes into your office and besides coming to you to make their travel plans they also need help getting theatre tickets. Well I guess you could waste hours on the Internet looking for the best deal or you could make one phone call and get them tickets in a matter of minutes. That's what happens when you call Applause.

Yes I know there are hundreds of other companies out there that sell theatre tickets. That will never change. The question you have to ask yourself is do you really want to deal with the headache of calling ten or twenty other places to eventually find that they don't have what you are looking for or do you want to take care of it the easy way? I don't know about you but I would choose the latter. Look you already have enough on your plate trying to find your clients a nice hotel while they are here. Why not make a little thing like getting tickets a piece of cake. I like cake. Don't you?

Save On The Addams Family This Winter

I have to tell you that when they first announced that they were doing The Addams Family on Broadway I wasn't too exceed. I take that back. The television show was a favorite of mine so I knew if done right the show had the potential to be very good. My main concern was the casting of two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane in the role of family patriarch Gomez Addams. Yes I know he is one of Broadway's biggest stars. I just don't get the hype.

Now Bebe Neuwirth on the other hand is a different story. To me that is perfect casting. So anyway last March I went to see the show. In fact if I remember right it might have been the first preview. Now after reading the mixed reviews that it received in Chicago I wasn't sure what to expect. My hope was that what every problems they had they were able to fix by now. After all they had almost two months between engagements to do so.

Cut to two and a half hours later and I can honestly say that I loved the show. I will even go as far to say that I loved Nathan Lane. He won me over. Is the show perfect? No. Do I think that it deserved the reviews that it received from the press or the backlash that it received from the Tony committee? Definitely not. What it is is a lot of fun. Theatre is there to entertain us . That is what The Addams Family does. After all what more do you need? I say forget what the critics say.

After all Wicked didn't get very good reviews and it is the most successful shows of all time. Take that critics. Oh wait. I almost forgot. I was supposed to tell you about The Addams Family ticket offer wasn't I? Well let's get right too it. From now thru March 27 you can tickets to see this hilarious musical at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that this "Insider Deal" is not good for Saturday or Sunday performances and is subject to availability. Get your tickets to see The Addams Family on Broadway. Disney's The Lion King

In 1997 Disney unveiled it's latest creation to the world. Now here we are some thirteen years later and The Lion King is still one of Broadway's hottest selling shows. Now I myself have never seen The Lion King. I take that back. I did see Act One and left after intermission. The show just wasn't for me. Regardless how I feel the show is going to be here for a very long time. I can't control that. All I can do is embrace the fact that without it and other shows I would be without a job. Now you don't want that do you?

Where else would you be able to read such fascinating blogs each and every week? Don't worry. I'm not going any where. That is unless Disney takes over all of Broadway. Stranger things have happened. Now while the show may be just as popular as it was when it first opened all those years ago it doesn't mean you can't get tickets. In fact there are still good seats left for most performances thru the Spring.

Now believe it or not but the Minskoff Theatre which houses the show is not very big. That means that there is not a bad seat in the house. Want seats but don't want to have to break the bank to do it? No problem. That's why they created the Rear Mezzanine. Well what if you are the type of person that has to sit in the first ten rows. We can do that too. Here at Applause we can get you tickets to any show at any price. That's what we do. Get your tickets to see The Lion King on Broadway. The 1998 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Call Applause Theatre Service For All Your Ticket Needs

Let's be honest. Most people that buy tickets for a Broadway show get them thru a third party. Since most people don't live in New York City that is the best way to go.Oh sure they could wait until they get here and try their luck at the box office but by doing that they are taking the risk of not getting tickets to see the show at all. Why let that happen? The thing is you don't have too.

Now I know I'm probably a little biased when it comes to our company. I'm sure if you were to ask employees of any other ticket company they would say the same. All I can tell you is that when you call us you are not only getting a live person on the phone but you are getting people who care.

Anybody can make a sale. The reason you are calling is to buy tickets after all. The thing is we are not here just to make a sale. If that was the case then we might as well just do all of our business thru the computer and send you an e-mail confirmation when we are done. No humans. No customer service.

That's no way to do business as far as I'm concerned. I know that if I was going to spend my hard-earned money than I would want the assurance that when I give my credit card I am getting my money's worth and from a company that cares about me. Not just the almighty dollar.

Now Is The Best Time To See The Lion King On Broadway

Once again I am writing a blog about a show that I have never seen. Maybe that's not such a good idea. I mean if I've never seen it then trying to sell it might be a little difficult. Of course I've never seen Mamma Mia and yet I sell tickets for that show week in and week out. Now while I may not have seen it there is no denying it's popularity. The show which recently celebrated it's 13th year on Broadway continues to be one of Broadway's biggest selling shows with no end in sight.

I can't change that. Not that I have anything against the show. Without Disney most children would never have the chance to experience Broadway for the first time. For that they should be commended. Now although the show is a big fat hit that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. On the contrary. In fact good seats are available for most performances thru the Spring. Get your tickets to see The Lion King on Broadway. The 1998 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Goodbye To In The Heights

Those of you who have read my blogs know how I feel about In The Heights. Not only is it my favorite show currently running on the Great White Way but one of my favorite shows of all time. Therefore when it was announced back in October that it would be closing I admit that I was a little sad. Oh sure I knew that it wasn't going to run forever. When it closes it will have played a total of 29 previews and 1,185 regular performances. Let's see Spider-Man reach that number. Now of course when they announced that it was closing I rushed out and bought a ticket for the final performance. Having missed the final performance of Rent I was not about to miss out on the chance to see my second favorite show. Good thing I went when I did because less than a week later it was taken off sale to the public. For those of you have not seen the show there is still time. In fact there are good seats left for the last few shows. Don't miss your chance to see Broadway at it's best. Get your tickets to see In The Heights on Broadway. Time is running out. Until next time theatre fans.

See Disney's Mary Poppins For Below Face Value

For those of you who have read my blogs in the past know how I feel about Disney and it's hold on Broadway. Now while their last couple of shows have not been as successful they are still and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. My opinion won't change that. Believe it or not but the movie version of Mary Poppins was a favorite of mine as a child. In fact I bet I saw it at least 25 times or more growing up.

Therefore when they announced that they were bringing the beloved movie to the stage I will admit I was a little excited. You see while I never had any desire to see The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast I figured that it was time to break my rule and see Mary Poppins when it opened. So there I sat in my seat at the New Amsterdam Theatre waiting for the show to begin.

Now while I was looking forward to seeing my childhood movie come to life I was a little unsure if the stage version would be as good as the film. Well as it turns out I was worried for nothing. Oh sure nobody can ever replace Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke but those two actor's along with an outstanding ensemble of Broadway veterans and newcomers made that night in the theatre one I will never forget.

Oh I almost forgot. The reason for today's blog was to tell you about an incredible offer. Starting tomorrow you can get tickets to see Mary Poppins in Broadway for prices that can't be beat. Be advised that while this "Insider Price" is good thru April 16 there are a few dates that are not valid.* Deals like these don't come around every day so call now. Get your tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. It will make you feel like a kid again.

Still haven't seen Memphis yet? Well there is no better time than the present. The show which won four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Musical is one of Broadways top selling shows. If it hadn't we might not be talking about it today. Now while the show may be a hit that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. In fact if you call now you can obtain tickets to see this Tony winning musical at prices that can't be beat. This special offer is only goof thru March 14 so don't delay. Customer Story

Yes I know. It's been almost three weeks since my last customer story. I'm sure you've all been going thru withdrawls haven't you? NOT! Well my friends it is a new year so why not start off on a positive note. This week's customer story comes all the way from Provo,Utah. It's o.k. I've never heard of the town either. So anyway last week I received a call from gentleman who was planning a trip into New York after the new year and wanted to see four shows while he was here. I told him that shouldn't be a problem as it usually slows down after the holidays are over. Plus since he was only going to be here for a short time he would have to see a show every day on order to squeeze them all in. Lucky he for him he pick shows that had been playing for awhile.

First up was Billy Elliot. Now while this Tony winning musical continues to be one of Broadway's most popular shows it doesn't mean you can't get tickets to see it. In fact I was able to get him great seats for "Below Face Value". For those of you that are not familiar with that term we have access to tickets that are lower than what you would pay at the box office. Who doesn't love a bargain these days? I know I do. So anyway after securing seats for Billy Elliot we moved on to La Cage Aux Folles which I was also able to get for a lower price as well. Next up was Wicked. Believe it or not but I was able to get him very nice seats for a price lower than he had seen anywhere else. Same with Jersey Boys. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?
