Broadway Bound American Psycho Has Found It's Leading Man

American Psycho Musical.jpg
Let me just start off by saying that I have never seen the movie American Psycho. Nor have I read the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis. That doesn't however mean that I am not looking forward to it's upcoming Broadway production. First of all it has a score by Tony winner Duncan Sheik.

You might recall he had a hit almost a decade ago with Spring Awakening. That production went on to win eight 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical of the Year, and is being revived this September. But enough about Spring Awakening. This blog is about American Psycho. So let's get right to it shall we?

Set in the 1980's, American Psycho is about a young investment banker from the Upper West Side by the name of Patrick Bateman. Oh and when he's not making a killing on Wall Street, he's killing everyone from colleagues, to prostitutes, to the homeless. Sounds like the next great musical comedy to me. I'm joking. Playing the part of the wealthy serial killer is Benjamin Walker, who's most recent credit's include the revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, as well at the title role in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.

Having seen both productions I have no doubt he is up for the challenge. Dare I say he will be slaying them in the aisles? I know. I know. Too much right? Previews for the show are set to begin on March 24, 2016 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced. Now while no on sale date has been announced, I'm sure that when it does it is going to be one hot ticket. Get your tickets to see American Psycho on Broadway. Until next time theatre fans.

Al Pacino Returns To Broadway This Fall

China DollThat's right theatre fans. Academy Award winner Al Pacino is coming back to Broadway, and this time it's not a revival. In fact it's a brand new play by David Mamet. Well I'm sold. So what's this new play called? China Doll. Now when I hear that, all I can think about is the David Bowie song from the 80's.

Somehow I think this show is not about that. So what is about exactly? Well according to the shows creator, China Doll is a new play about a wealthy man, his young and beautiful fiancé, and an airplane. That is one crazy triangle my friends. Oh and did I mention it's a two person play? Now I know what you're thinking? Who is Mr. Pacino's leading lady? Well actually we never see her.

The other character in the show is his assistant who is being played by Fran Kranz. Clear now? Let's hope so. Previews for China Doll are set to begin at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on October 21, with opening night scheduled for November 19. Tickets are now on sale so don't miss your chance to see what is sure to be one interesting night in the theatre. Get your tickets to see China Doll starring Al Pacino on Broadway. I for one can't wait. How about you? Until next time theatre fans.

Broadway Revival Of Spring Awakening To Open This September

Spring Awakening Tickets - BroadwayLet me just start off by saying that one of my favorite theatre memories of the last decade was the original Broadway production of Spring Awakening. Now here we are almost nine years later, and the show is coming back to Broadway in a way that no one could have ever expected. So I know what you're thinking? What makes this production so different from the last one? Well for one over half of the performers in the show are deaf.

Now believe it or not but this is not the first time that Broadway has seen a show featuring hearing impaired actor's. In fact in 2003, there was a revival of Big River, that received universal acclaim and was nominated for Best Musical Revival of the Year. That production, like this one was produced by the California based Deaf West Theatre Company. Set in 1891 Germany, Spring Awakening tells the story of a group of teenagers and their struggles with sex and adolescence. Oh and did I mention it's all set to rock music?

By the way, the original production won eight 2007 Tony Awards including Best Musical of the Year. Let's hope this one is just as successful. Previews for the show are set to begin at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on September 8, 2015, with opening night set for September 27. As of now the show is scheduled for a limited run of only eighteen weeks. However if reviews are good I would not be surprised if it extends. Fingers crossed. Get your tickets to see Spring Awakening on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Who knows? Maybe I'll see you there. Until next time theatre fans.

Hamilton Lives Up To The Hype

After all the hype and waiting, Hamilton is now previewing on Broadway; available for all to see. Lin-Manuel Miranda's follow-up musical after In The Heights has stirred up such interest that the Richard Rodgers Theatre has been selling out for the past two weeks. When it comes to mind, there isn't much of a reason why a historical show about Alexander Hamilton should be selling out. However, Hamilton tickets aren't being bought by the history lovers or those who want to immerse themselves in as much "Alexander Hamilton-ness" as possible. No, if you're buying a ticket for Hamilton, you're buying it for Lin-Manuel Miranda himself. The book-writer, composer, lyricist, and star of the show not only recreates the life of Alexander Hamilton but adds a diverse and colorful flare in all aspects of the production.

Hamilton focuses on the life of Alexander Hamilton, the young, ambitious immigrant from the British Virgin Islands, who makes his way to colonial New York and becomes a key factor in the founding of the United States. Along the way, rivals are made as Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton butt heads throughout their political careers and eventually face off in a historic duel by the river. But with Lin-Manuel Miranda's penchant for the original, this is no ordinary biography. The musical utilizes hip hop, rap, reggae, and R&B, includes a cast of diverse heritage, and focuses on the man that is Alexander Hamilton; his ability, his ambition, and his passion.

Like the rebels fighting the British, this show is bursting with energy. Matching Alexander Hamilton's fueled desire to make a change in his abused nation, freestyle rap battles and rhythmic monologues take the place of debates and proposals. When the pace slows down, and the story touches on Alexander Hamilton's personal relationships, ballads with pensive, moody beats emotionalize his journey to prove himself to others for the sake of his young nation.

Although this show is only in previews, I can say it has been one of my favorite Broadway experiences. It has everything that I look for in a show. It's fresh, it takes risks and liberties that not many musicals take, and above all that, the music is symbolic to the message. Like politics, hip-hop is argumentative and personal. It focuses on expressing yourself and your ideals. Hamilton really stands out when it comes to being its own.

Hamilton is currently previewing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and opens August 8th. Here at Applause, we can get you tickets to see Hamilton! Don't waste your shot to see it! Just give us a call. We'd love to talk to you!

New Musical On Your Feet To Open On Broadway This Fall

That's right theatre fans. Get on your feet! Like how I used the title there? So now that you know what's it called, I'm guessing you probably want to know what it's about.Well I'll tell you. First of all it's not based on a movie. Yes I know. Surprising right? Nor is it a revival. What it is, is a brand new musical based on the lives of Latin sensation Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio.

On Your Feet!Sounds exciting to me. How could it not be right? I mean come on. A brand new two and a half hour musical set to Gloria Estefan hit's like "Conga", Rhythm Is Going To Get You", and my personal favorite, "Coming Out Of The Dark".Still not sure? Well maybe these fabulous reviews will change your mind. Enjoy!

London Hit King Charles III To Make It's Broadway Debut This Fall

King Charles III
What's that you say? Another play about a British monarch on Broadway? Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time I checked Queen Elizabeth II was still in power. However this play isn't about her. It's about her son. You remember him right? Prince Charles of Wales. Now wait a minute. Isn't the show called King Charles III. Yes it is. It's called fiction.

Which is what makes it so interesting. The show, which won the 2015 Olivier Award for Best Play of the Year, is set to begin previews at the Music Box Theatre on October 10, with opening night scheduled for November 1. So what exactly is the show about? Besides the obvious of course.

Now if you haven't figured out already by the title, Prince Charles is now the reigning monarch of Britain. No the Queen didn't suddenly decide to step down and relinquish the throne. She died. Like I said. Fiction. So what is the rest of the play about? Well I guess I could tell you, but that would ruin the surprise. After all wouldn't you rather wait and find out for yourself? I know I would. Get your tickets to see King Charles III on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. I can't wait.

Off-Broadway Favorite Dames At Sea To Make Broadway Debut In September

Dames at SeaPicture it. New York City. The 1930's. A talented, but young and naĂŻve girl arrives with dreams of being a star. Sounds familiar right? No. It's not another revival of 42nd Street. It's actually the first ever Broadway production of Dames At Sea.

The show which was first conceived as a short sketch, loosely based on the Gold Diggers movies, first premiered in New York City's famed Greenwich Village in 1966 at Caffe Cino. That production, which ran for one hundred and forty-eight performances, featured future two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway legend Bernadette Peters.

Previews for the Broadway production are set to begin at the Helen Hayes Theartre on September 24, with opening night scheduled for October 22. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony nominee Randy Skinner, Dames At Sea is described as a "tap-happy, navy-crazy celebration of the golden era of movie musicals with a heart as big at the ocean."

Sounds like just the kind of musical that Broadway needs right now. Tickets for the show are now on sale. Not only that, but if you call right now we can get you tickets to see Dames At Sea at prices that can't be beat. Get your tickets to see Dames At Sea on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Broadway Classic Fiddler On The Roof To Return To Broadway This November

Fiddler on the Roof Tickets - BroadwayThat's right theatre fans. One of Broadway's most beloved musicals of all time is coming home. Fiddler On The Roof, which first premiered on the Great White Way in 1964, is set to begin previews at the Broadway Theatre on November 12. Opening night is scheduled for December 17. This new production, which is being directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher (The King and I), will star five-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (Cabaret, South Pacific). Now I'll admit when the show was first announced I was a little surprised.

After all the last revival was back in 2004. Don't get me wrong. I love the show. In fact it is one of my all time favorites. I just wasn't sure if Broadway was ready for another production of this classic musical. Hopefully I am wrong, because Fiddler on the Roof is one fantastic show that deserves to be seen. Here's hoping it's a hit. Tickets for the show are now on sale. Not only that but we sell it. In fact we sell tickets to every show both On and Off-Broadway. New Musical Allegiance To Open On Broadway This Fall

AllegianceThat's right theatre fans. There is a new musical in town. Technically it's still a few months away, but you know what I mean. Allegiance, which is inspired by the real-life childhood of television icon and activist George Takei, is set to begin previews at the Longacre Theatre on October 6, with opening night scheduled for November 8. The show which first premiered at the Old Globe Theatre in 2012, will mark the first time that an Asian-led cast has been on Broadway since the 2002 Broadway revival of Flower Drum Song.

I think it's about time. Don't you? Set in California during the height of World War II, Allegiance follows one family's struggle, as they are forced to leave the only home they know and take up residence at a camp in Wyoming. By the way, tickets for the show are now on sale thru September 2016, so don't miss your chance to see what is sure to be one of this season's most inspiring new shows. Hand To God Blog

This review comes a little late. It's been over three months since Hand to God has premiered on Broadway. It's drawn a lot of attention, it was nominated for, and snubbed of, multiple Tonys, and most recently, became "that play where the audience member tried to charge his phone onstage".

But ignoring all of that, what do you first think of when you see the poster for Hand to God? What are your first impressions? Does it seem eerie? These people are smiling but the background is dark. There's a creepy looking sock puppet amidst these seemingly devout, innocently-looking folks. What could that possibly mean? What happens in this play? Personally, I think of all the promotional posters for the Broadway shows currently playing, none is as thought-provoking as this one. And I was all the more satisfied after seeing the show because of how unusual this poster is.

In Hand to God, we are given an idea of just how much pressure can build in a small Christian town in Texas. Jason, a shy teen, is expected to be obedient and supportive of his uptight mother Margery, as she has just lost her husband. Margery, facing pressure from the town pastor about a puppet show to perform in front of the whole congregation, is on the edge. While also suffering from the torment of bullies like Timothy, another teen in his Church puppet class, Jason retreats to the companionship of his deranged, seemingly-possessed sock puppet Tyrone. Tyrone soon embarks on a tirade as he seeks to unlock Jason's potential to be bad and stick up for himself. Comedy ensues thereafter.

The show is deranged; there's no doubt about that. Steven Boyer, who plays Jason, simultaneously operates and voices Tyrone the sock puppet while playing the role of Jason. Throughout the entire show, the dirty and hilarious back and forth between Jason and Tyrone is so important to the show as it contrasts the two characters and how one empowers the other. Its insanity acts as the gateway to the wild comedy that makes it as good as it is.

Hand to God, while being hysterical, is very symbolic. It chronicles the primitive necessity of right and wrong that human beings have naturally instilled upon themselves since the beginning of time. The grand existential message is also coupled with the message of how our smallest, inner vices, wants, and needs can inspire in us a new drive and the seeking to be a different person in order to "better" ourselves.

So if you haven't caught this play and you've been dying to find out what this show is about after seeing that awesome promotional everywhere you're looking for something dramatic, dark, and brooding that takes as many liberties as an Off-Broadway play, look no further. Hand to God will not disappoint and at the same time will make you question your sanity (in a good way of course).

Hand to God plays at the Booth Theatre and Applause can provide tickets for you! Just give us a call!

P.S. Leave your phone chargers at home

This new production, which opened on March 28, 2015, stars Academy Award nominee, and eight-time Olivier Award winner Imelda Staunton in the role of Rose.

As of now the show is only scheduled to run thru November 28, but I for one would not be surprised if it extends. So what exactly is Gypsy all about? Well for those of you that don't know, Gypsy is based on the autobiography of renowned stripper Gypsy Rose Lee.

Amazing Grace Opens Tonight!

A new and original show has come to Broadway. It's Amazing Grace and it tells the story of how John Newton, a wretch who was lost and then found, was inspired to write the tune that every single American knows to this day.

It centers around John Newton, something of a prodigal son to say the least, who ditched his education in search for adventure, booze, and money (but mostly booze) via working the decks of slave ships. However, when his father cuts him off and John is impressed into the Navy, his life spirals downward. As his ship is taken over off the African coast, he is forced to run the slave trade from the opposite side of the world. Having enslaved thousands, John Newton realizes the error of his ways and seeks penance. On his return trip home to start a new life, he and his crew encounter a devastating hurricane. Pleading to God for forgiveness and making it through the storm, he becomes a changed man; who lives to free the people he once enslaved. And in the process, he writes one of the most beloved songs the world ever hears; Amazing Grace.

The music in the show is powerful, the cast is quite talented, and the sets are picturesque. Together, they all work to guide and build up the production to the final namesake performance of 'Amazing Grace' sung in unison by the whole cast! The show is good, but with a story as original as this, the execution doesn't take any real liberties; which is not necessarily a bad thing. When you're surrounded by a spectacle like this show, you will be caught up and enthralled. I mean, really, there's no such thing as a night wasted on Broadway!

If you want tickets to see Amazing Grace, you can give us a ring and we'll be happy to provide tickets for you! It plays at the Nederlander Theatre and officially opens today! Don't miss out!

Cats Returns To London

That's right theatre fans. One of the world's longest running shows of all time is back where it first opened over thirty-four years ago. Cats, which is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot, opened at the London Palladium in December 2014 for a limited run of twelve weeks. Yet here we are some seven months later, and the show is still playing to packed houses eight times a week. Now my first memory of the show was hearing the song "Memory" in middle school.

Cats TicketsLike how I tied those two together? Cut to some ten years later and I moved to New York to be an actor. Care to guess what I saw shortly after moving here? That's right? It was Cats. Now I know what you're thinking. Did the show live up to my expectations? You bet it did.

In fact I can't wait until this latest production comes to Broadway. Oh come on. You know it's going to come here eventually. So what is Cats about? Well besides the obvious that is. Anyway here is a synopsis about the show to give you a little more info. Enjoy!

Song and dance based loosely on the T.S.Elliot poems Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The plot is that all the cats are gathering for the Jellicle Ball at which one will be bestowed with an extra life. All the performers are cats in a outsize alley which takes over the whole auditorium.

The show has a loose story but is essentially a series of pieces about the individual cats, their personalities and their lives. During the interval there is a chance for younger members of the audience to meet a cat and get an autograph. Time Out called it the dancing moggie show.

Let me guess. You're dying to see it now aren't you? I knew you would be. So how do you get tickets? Well I guess you could wait until you get over to London, and hope that tickets are still available. Or you could just give us a call, and let one of our friendly ticket experts at Applause get them for you. It's as simple as that. Get your tickets to see Cats in London at the London Palladium. Musical Based On Bend It Like Beckham Film Now Open In London

Bend It Like Beckham TicketsYou've seen the movie. Now see the musical. Bend It Like Beckham, which is based on the 2002 film, opened at the Phoenix Theatre to rave reviews on June 24. Now I loved the film. Did I ever think they would make a musical about it someday? Not on your life. Of course I also thought the same thing about The Full Monty, and that was one of my favorite shows.

So what exactly is Bend It Like Beckham about anyway? Well if you've seen the movie than you know exactly what it is about. Yes I know not every one has seen it. Therefore I have put together a little synopsis about the show to fill you in. Enjoy!

Jess has a very important decision to make. Does she pursue her dream of becoming a world class soccer player like her idol David Beckham, Or does she follow her families wishes of a life filled with school and marriage? As her team continues to flourish, she is faced with telling her family the truth, while trying to live up to her family's expectations.

Sounds like the making of a great musical to me. Hopefully it will come to Broadway someday. Until then, I guess you will just have to head over to London to see what all the fuss is about. Luckily for you we sell tickets to it. In fact we sell tickets to every show in London. Get your tickets to see Bend It Like Beckham in London at the Phoenix Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Wicked and the Spell It Casts On All of Us

It's been twelve years since Wicked debuted on Broadway and took the world by storm. For twelve years, the musical about the origins of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch have summoned audiences in massive numbers to the Gershwin Theatre. Even this week, when I was a patron of the sold out venue (on an ordinary Tuesday), I was spellbound. And I started to wonder "Why?" What is it that this play has that other shows don't? Most Broadway musicals have the great singing, spectacular sets, mesmerizing choreography, and overall enjoyability that Wicked does. What is it that has made this show stand the test of time? I think I figured it out.

Standing alone, Wicked is an extremely creative musical with a solid plot. But how it links up with what we already know and like about The Wizard of Oz while remaining original is what I love about it.  While you're experiencing how exactly Elphaba became The Wicked Witch of the West or how Glinda became The Good Witch of the South, you're thinking back to what you know of The Wizard of Oz and realize how dynamic Wicked has made these characters. Yes, you probably hated the emerald-skinned Witch in The Wizard of Oz but Wicked changes that.

A Broadway show is a visual and audio medium for entertainment. However, the story is what penetrates and gets us thinking. The story digs deeper than singing, dancing, and acting can. And a spin-off idea of such a well-known story like The Wizard of Oz  that works as well as Wicked does will draw audiences in droves.

Oh and also there's fabulous singing and dancing, spectacular sets, comic perfection, and a fiery love triangle. If that doesn't attract a crowd, what will? So yes, I think I might've cracked it. But that is just my latest analysis of the success of Wicked. See it for yourself and let us know how you feel! Applause provides tickets for Wicked any day of the week. So come and be spellbound like I and millions of others were!

A.R. Gurney's Sylvia To Bow On Broadway This September

SylviaRaise your hand if you've ever owned a pet. Now I'm guessing most, if not all of you have your hand raised. Over the years I have owned everything from a goldfish, to a hamster. I have even owned a cat or two. However the one pet that I have never owned is a dog. Which brings me to today's blog. Sylvia. That's right. Sylvia is a play about a dog and it's relationship with it's owner. Now Sylvia is no ordinary dog mind you. This dog can talk. What's that you say? A talking dog? What kind of show is this?

Well believe it or not, but it's one of the most heartwarming shows you will ever see. I was fortunate enough to see the show when it first opened Off-Broadway back in May 1995. That production starred Charles Kimbrough, Blythe Danner, and Sarah Jessica Parker in the title role. This of course was before Sex in the City. Just imagine how popular it would have been if the show had opened just a few years later.

Now here we are over twenty years later, and Sylvia is making it's debut on the Great White Way. This new production, which is being directed by Tony winner Daniel J. Sullivan, will star Robert Sella, Tony winner Julie White, and recent Tony winner Annaleigh Asford as Sylvia. Great cast don't you think? O.K. so now that you know who is in it, I'm guessing you might want a little more info about the show before you purchase tickets. I mean besides it being a show about an owner and his dog. So here you go. Enjoy!

Has your pet changed your life? Have you ever wondered what she’s thinking when she stares up at you and tilts her head? Could she have the secret to understanding the world at large and your place in it? Or is she just more interested in how your shoe tastes? In Sylvia, the world of a middle-aged New York couple is turned topsy-turvy when the husband brings home an exceptionally engaging canine running loose in Central Park.

Sounds like a great night in the theater to me. So how do you get tickets? Well my friends it is easier than you might think. Just give us a call and one of our friendly ticket experts at Applause will do the rest. It's as simple as that. Previews are set to begin at the Cort Theatre on September 25, with opening night scheduled for October 15. Get your tickets to see Sylvia on Broadway. Until next time pet lover's.

Ruthless Off-Broadway

If you enjoy independent movies or musicians that not everyone is familiar with, then you must enjoy huge production value in small packages. If I'm correct and you do then I have some great news for you.  Ruthless! The Musical is now open Off-Broadway! Playing at St. Luke's Theatre on 46th and 8th, Ruthless! is a small musical spoof with a cast less than 10 people that packs a serious punch!

This musical comedy has quite the history. It opened Off Broadway in 1992. It parodies famous movies and plays like The Bad Seed and Gypsy. And when it first opened, 11-year olds Natalie Portman and Britney Spears served as understudies for the show's star Laura Bell Bundy! It never opened on Broadway, which I think is pretty cool seeing how much potential this show actually has. The theatre in which it plays only seats about 120 people. This makes it quite the hidden treasure.

This musical takes all the creepiness of the movies and plays it's based on and puts on a witty, silly, satirical spin. It includes a stellar cast; especially the leading tween who plays 8-year old, fame-hungry Tina Denmark who'll do whatever it takes to get the lead role in the school play. Anything.
It's jam-packed with zingers, one-liners, irony, and the perfectly timed F-bombs that'll leave your gut absolutely busted.

And the best and most understated element of this play is its environment. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. No matter where one sits, there's a sense of intimacy. The live piano player provides all the music for the cast. You're up close and personal with the cast (so much that eye contact is occasionally made) and you really feel the volume, breadth, and intensity of each performer's vocal capabilities. I truly believe this is a show that should not be missed!

And no matter the size of the venue, or the underselling of the show, we at Applause can provide you with tickets! Just give us a call!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's School Of Rock To Open On Broadway This December

Wait a minute. One of my favorite movies is coming to Broadway, and it's going to be a musical? Am I dreaming? I sure hope not. Plus it's being composed by Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award winner Andrew Lloyd Webber. School of Rock, based on the 2003 film of the same name, is scheduled to begin previews at the Winter Garden Theatre on November 9, with opening night set for December 6.

Not only that, but this will mark the first Andrew Lloyd Webber show to have it's world premier on Broadway since the 1971 production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Which by the way ran for over two years, and achieved world-wide acclaim. Here's hoping his latest creation is just as successful. Now for those of you who have never seen the movie, here is a little synopsis about the show to get you up to speed. Enjoy!

School of RockThe musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. The stage musical is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber who has composed 14 new songs to create a score which also features all the original songs from the movie. SCHOOL OF ROCK, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music.

Ready to see it now? I know I would be if I were you. Of course I might be a little partial. So now that you know what it's about, how do you get tickets? Well I guess you could wait until you get here, and hope that they are available. Not a good idea my friends. This show is going to be a hit. Luckily we sell the show. In fact we sell tickets for every show on Broadway. Get your tickets to see School of Rock on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre. Until next time rock fans.

Acclaimed London Production Of The Color Purple To Open On Broadway This Fall

The Color PurpleHas it really been almost ten years since The Color Purple first opened on the Great White Way? I remember seeing the show right before it opened. Even then I knew it would be a big hit. Luckily I was right, as the show went on to run for over two years on Broadway, where it recouped it's entire investment in the first year.

Not only that, but the show enjoyed a successful national tour that played across the country for over six years. This new production, to be directed by Tony winner John Doyle (Company, The Visit), is set to begin previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on November 10, with opening night scheduled for December 3.

Making her Broadway debut in the role of Shug, is Academy and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson, and Cynthia Erivo who will reprise her performance as Celia. Now for those of you that are not familiar with the show, here is a brief synopsis of The Color Purple for you to peruse. Enjoy!

The Color Purple is an unforgettable story of enduring love and triumph over adversity. With a fresh, joyous score of jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues, this stirring family chronicle follows the inspirational Celie, as she journeys from childhood through joy and despair, anguish and hope to discover the power of love and life.

By the way, for those of you who are looking to purchase tickets to see The Color Purple, you are in luck. Why you ask? Because we sell it. In fact we sell every show both On and Off-Broadway. Get your tickets to see The Color Purple at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Broadway. Until next time theatre fans.
