I've been in the Broadway theatre ticket business for over 30 years now. I have seen lots of change in the past 5 years, with so many new places to buy tickets from. As I look around the industry I see hundreds of companies doing the same old things. You know, charging lots of money to get the seats to a popular Broadway show.
Although the internet has brought about great increases in the potential for selling more tickets on line, it appears that all that is going on is the buying and selling of tickets, not particularly any "unique" personal service for the ticket buyer. After reading dozens of business books and attending business seminar after seminar, it seems like ticket sellers still don't get it. Sure maybe some people want to make a purchase on line with no strings attached but my guess is that there are tons of people that are craving for some "good old fasioned personal service" when they need a ticket to a Broadway show.
This is "no knock" on anyone else by the way. In my book, however, I think we might be moving somewaht away from booking on line and opt for talking with a real nice ticket seller. You know, someone who can spend time getting to know what you really want in seating for a show. Equally important, so many people want to know where to eat and where they can go "clubbing" or "shopping" when in New York City.
Sure tons of people will book with one of the on line "ticket guys" but there will never be a replacement for speaking with a nice person who lives locally and knows the ins and outs of New York City. We like to think we have always offered this "personal ticket buying" service for Broadway shows, dining, shopping, hotels and so many other needs.
If you ever have a need for a Broadway ticket "expert", we would appreciate you calling us directly at 1-800-451-9930 or at 212-307-7050 or visit our on line store at www.applause-tickets.com . Even if you just need to know something about New York or have a question about anything going on where we live.
We value our customers and treat you like we would a dear friend. Call and ask for Richie G, aka The Broadway Ticket Man or our wonderful team 7 days a week. Thanks, Richie G.
