Broadway Revival Of Children Of A Lessser God To Begin Performances Tonight

Children of a Lesser GodI can't tell you how excited I am to see this show. Children of a Lesser God, which first premiered on Broadway in March 1980, is making it's first return to the Great White Way since it's original production. Opening night is scheduled for April 11. Now I have never seen a live production of the show. So why am I so excited about it?

Well, it's because I am a huge fan of the film, which starred Academy Award winner William Hurt, and Marlee Matlin in her Academy Award winning film debut. Yes I know seeing a story on the big screen is different from seeing it live on stage. However I think I will enjoy it just the same.

Leading the cast are television and film star Joshua Jackson (The Affair, Dawson's Creek), and Lauren Ridloff, who is making her Broadway debut. The show, which received rave reviews last Summer at the Berkshire Film Festival, is being directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin In The Sun).

By the way, for those of you want tickets to see this award winning play, you are in luck. We sell it. In fact we sell every new play and musical this season on Broadway. Get your tickets to see Children of a Lesser God on Broadway at Studio 54. Who knows? You might just see me there. Until next time theatre fans.

Mean GirlsThat's right theatre fans. One of this season's most highly anticipated new shows is finally here. Mean Girls, which is based on the hit film of the same name, begins previews tonight at the August Wilson Theatre, with opening night scheduled for April 8. Now I love the movie. In fact, I would call it one of the greatest teen comedies of the 2000's.

The show, which features a book by Tina Fey, music by three-time Emmy winner Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) is being directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin). Broadway Revival Of Carousel Now In Previews

CarouselI can't begin to tell you how excited I am about this show. Believe it or not, but my first exposure to the theatre was the Sound of Music. And who wrote that musical masterpiece? Why none other than the same composer's of Carousel. That's right theatre fans. I'm talking about the songwriting duo of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

The show, which first premiered on the Great White Way in April 1945, began previews last night at the Imperial Theatre, with opening night scheduled for April 12. Last month, I wrote a blog about how the show is having an unusually long preview period.Six weeks to be exact. Oh well. I guess they just want it to be perfect.
