Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from Coral Gables, Florida. Yesterday afternoon I received a call from one of my regular customers who was planning a trip to New York next month and wanted to see a couple of shows while they were here. Her choices were two of this years most nominated shows. Kinky Boots and the revival of Pippin. Both of which I think are going to do very well at next weeks Tony Awards. Now not only did she want to see two of Broadway's most popular shows but she wanted to go during Tony weekend which is one of the season's busiest times. Luckily for her I was able to get some last minute cancellations and got her excellent seats in the Front Mezzanine for both shows. Not only that but at a rate that was lower than they were expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from Vista, California. Yesterday afternoon I received a call from a very nice lady who was planning a trip to New York next month and wanted to see a show. Her choice? Why none other than Matilda. So anyway now that I knew what she wanted to see I needed to find out when they were available to go. She knew going in that getting tickets might be difficult not to mention expensive. This is true. However not as expensive as she thought. When all was said and done I was able to get here excellent seats in the side balcony. Yes I know what you're thinking. Isn't the Balcony pretty high up? Yes it is. Doesn't mean it's not a full view. Even if it is off to the side. Plus I got them for a rate that was lower than she was expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

A Day In The Life Of A Ticket Broker

Hard to believe but I have been living in New York City for over twenty-one years. Fifteen of those have been spent working in the ticket industry with nine of those years at Applause. Time sure does fly doesn't it? Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that when I moved to the big city back in 1992 that I would be spending my days and nights selling tickets to other people. I came here to be an actor, a writer, an artist. Yet here I am selling hundreds of tickets every week to travel agents, concierges, and total strangers. And you know what? I hate it. Nah, I’m just kidding. I love my job. I even love the people I work with too. How rare is that?

So while I wait for my big break I continue to work at Applause and assist new and old customers alike with all their ticket needs. That’s not all. I am also here to answer any questions you might have about the greatest city in the world. Let's face it after being here for twenty-one years I have acquired a lot of knowledge about this great city of ours. Need help on what show to see? Give me a call. What about where to eat or what hotel to sat at while you're here? I can help with that too. Now I don't have an extension but since I am the only J. here I should be pretty easy to find. And if I'm not here feel free to send me an email at james@applause-tickets.com. And if I'm not around you can always ask for Todd, Claudia, Rich, Jonathan, or David. So why not give us a try? You'll be glad you did. Until next time.

Forever Tango To Return To Broadway This Summer

That's right dance fans. Forever Tango is set to return to the Great White Way in July. The show which first premiered on Broadway in 1997 and returned for a four month engagement in 2004 is set to begin performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre on July 9. As of now the show is scheduled to play thru September 15. Now while I have never seen the show I have always heard great things about it. For those of you that are not familiar with the show I have included a brief synopsis of Forever Tango from the shows official website.

"Forever Tango is music, drama, culture, a way of life," press notes state. "The popularity of tango has exploded all over the world. Sensuous and sophisticated, the tango is a feeling that you dance. A story is channeled through the flick of the leg, the tug of a hand, the tap of a foot, and the arch of an eyebrow. It’s passionate, yet melancholic. Tender, yet violent. You dance it with somebody, but it is so internal, you dance it by yourself."

It was also announced that Grammy winning recording star Gilberto Santa Rosa will star in the production from July 9-28. By the way for those of you looking to get tickets to see the show you have come to the right place. Tickets for the show are scheduled to go on sale in the coming weeks so don't delay. Get your tickets to see Forever Tango on Broadway. Until next time dance fans.

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from the great state of California. San Rafael to be exact. This past Saturday I received a call from a customer who was planning a trip to New York this Fall and wanted to see a couple of shows while they were here. Yes believe it or not we are open on the weekends too. In fact we are open seven days a week. 365 days a year. How many other companies do you know that do that? No too many my friends. So anyway after finding out when they would be here I needed to find out what they wanted to see and when they wanted to go. Their choices were both new shows from this season. Not too mention hit shows as well. O.K. enough suspense. The two shows that they wanted to see were Matilda The Musical and Cinderella. Both good choices and both good for the whole family. So now that I knew what they wanted to see I needed to find out when they wanted to see it.Because they were booking almost five months in advance I was fairly certain that I would be able to get them excellent seats. Not only that but probably at a lower rate. Sure enough I was able to get them Center seats in the Front Mezzanine for both shows. Plus they said they would give us a call when they got into the city if they decided to book another show. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from the Lone Star State. That's Texas for those of you that don't know. Anyway a couple of days ago I got a call from a very friendly travel agent from San Antonio who's client was planning a trip to New York in July and wanted to see a couple of shows while they were here. Their choices were Chicago and Once, last years winner for Best Musical of the Year. So now that I knew what they wanted to see I needed to find out when they wanted to go. Since they were going to be here for over a week they decided to see one show on the first day they arrive and then the second at the end of their trip. Now while Chicago has been playing for over sixteen years it is still one of Broadway's most popular shows. Therefore I knew I would have no problem getting them good tickets and probably at a lower rate. Well as it turns out price wasn't an option for this customer. They just wanted the best seats. So I offered them Premium seats which while being a little more than regular seats are better. When all was said and done I was able to get them excellent seats up front and center for both shows. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from the Peach State. That's right I am talking about Georgia. Atlanta to be exact. This past Monday I received a call from one of our regular travel agents who's client was planning a trip to New York next month and wanted to get tickets for Wicked. Hard to believe but Wicked will celebrate ten years on Broadway this October. My how time flies.

So anyway know that I knew what they wanted to see I needed to find out how many tickets they wanted and when they wanted to go. Now while they were pretty flexible on the date they were more concerned about the seats as they wanted to sit as close as possible to the stage. No problem there as we have access to all seats and prices for Wicked as well as every show both On and Off-Broadway.

When all was said and done I was able to get them excellent seats in the eighth row center of the Orchestra. Not too close but not too far way either. Plus I was able to get them for a rate that was lower than they were expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Let It Be To Open On Broadway This Summer

Another Beatles musical on Broadway? It seems like the last one was just here. That one was called Rain by the way and ran on Broadway for a total of 300 performances from October 2010 thru February 2011. In fact it was so popular that it played at two different theatres during it's run. Now comes news that the boys from Liverpool are set to take the Great White Way by storm once again.

Let It Be is set to begin performances at the St. James Theatre on July 16 with opening night scheduled for July 24. As of now the show is scheduled to play thru December 29. Now even though I know that you've all heard of The Beatles I have decided to include a brief description of Let It Be from the show's official website.

Let It Be began as a West End production to celebrate The Beatles' 50th anniversary. Using projection technology and 3D sound, the show chronicles the Beatles' rise from Liverpool's Cavern Club to the height of their fame through live performances of songs including "Twist and Shout," "She Loves You," "Drive My Car," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Let It Be."

Sounds like a winner to me. By the way for those of you who are looking for tickets to see Let It Be you are in luck. Not only do we sell tickets to this show but every show and event in New York City. Get your tickets to see Let It Be on Broadway. Tickets are on sale now so don't delay. Call now.

Today's customer story comes all the way from my home state of Illinois. Carbondale to be exact. Yesterday afternoon I received a call from a travel agent who's client was planning a trip to New York in June and wanted to see a couple of shows while they were there. I take that back. They wanted to see three shows. Their choices were The Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, and Motown The Musical. Three shows that I have actually seen. Imagine that. So anyway now that I knew what I wanted to see I needed to find out when they wanted to go and where they wanted to sit. Now since both Jersey Boys and Phantom have been playing a long time I knew I wouldn't have a problem getting tickets. In fact for Phantom I was able to get them excellent seats at an "Insider Price". Same for Jersey Boys. Well excellent seats that is not at a lower price. It is still one of the most popular shows on Broadway after all. Two shows down. One to go. Now despite it's mixed reviews Motown The Musical is by far one of this season's biggest hits. In fact they have advance sales totalling over twenty-six million dollars. Take that critics. Once again I was able to get them great seats and at a rate that was lower than they were expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Tickets For The 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Are Now On Sale

Can you believe that we are only six months away until this year's edition of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular?  In fact just last week group tickets went on sale with individual tickets set to go on sale later this week. Now I'm sure that they last thing that most of us are thinking about right now is Christmas considering that were barely into the first week of May. But trust me my friends. It will be here before you know it. Believe it or not but I have already spoken to over a half a dozen travel agents who's clients are ready to book now. Nothing like planning ahead right? Performances for this years production are scheduled to begin on November 8 and run thru December 30. Now in years past there are usually less performances during the first couple if weeks in November. Not this year. Right now the show is performing every day thru the end of December except for November 13 and 14. Let's hope those Rockettes get plenty of rest each night because they are going to need it. Get your tickets to see The 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Your holidays won't be the same without it.

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from the great state of Montana. Bozeman to be exact. This past Friday I received a call from a travel agent who's client was heading over to London in a week and wanted to take in a few shows while they were there. Nothing like waiting to the last minute right?

Their choices were We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, and The Book of Mormon. Three great shows that I have all seen. I take that back. I still haven't seen The Book of Mormon yet. Oh well. It's not like it's not going to be around for years to come. I'm sure that I will see it eventually. So anyway now that I knew what they wanted to see I needed to find out if I could get the tickets. After all they were going to London in less than a week.

Now they knew that of the three shows that The Book of Mormon would be the most difficult to get. Luckily for them there was a last minute cancellation and I was able to get them excellent seats in the Center Orchestra only ten rows from the stage. One show down. Two to go. Because We Will Rock you has been playing for a long time I was once again able to find them seats in the Center Orchestra. One more show to go. Care to guess where they were sitting for Jersey Boys? You guessed it. Center Orchestra. Not only that but I was able to get all three shows for less than they were expecting. So there you have it folks. Three great shows and great prices to boot. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story

Today's customer story comes all the way from the great state of California. La Jolla to be exact. Finally a city in California that I know besides Los Angeles and San Francisco. Anyway yesterday afternoon I received a call from a regular customer of mine who was planning a trip to New York for Memorial Day weekend and wanted tickets to a show. Her choice? Why none other than thirteen Tony nominee KinkyBoots. Which by the way is the most nominations for any show this season.

So anyway now that I knew what she wanted to see I needed to find out when she wanted to go and where she wanted to sit. As it turns out they needed three seats with one being on the aisle. After a little research I was able to find her excellent seats in the third row. Now I personally think that is too close but of course I am not the one going. Anyway when all was said and done I was able to get her the seats she wanted and for a price that was lower than she was expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?
