Dames At Sea To Open Tonight On Broadway

Dames at SeaThat's right theatre fans. Dames It Sea is headed to the Great White Way. Not only that but it is also the first time the show has been on Broadway. Who knew? Believe it or not but the show first premiered in 1966 at a place called Caffe Cino. Let me guess. Never heard of it have you? Well as it turns out not only was it located in the heart of Greenwich Village, but it was also the birthplace of Off-Off-Broadway.

Now I know a lot about New York theatre history and even I didn't know that. So, now that you know where the show originated, I'm guessing you might want to know what the show's about right? Exactly. Well for starter's it takes place in New York City in the 1930's. Sounds good so far. A young and naïve girl arrives with dreams of becoming a star.

Now I know whet you're thinking. Kind of sounds like 42nd Street right? Trust me. I thought the same thing. As it turns out, the show is actually a parody of a series of movie's by famed director and choreographer Busby Berkeley from the 1930's. Now I get it. So there you have it folks. wait a minute. I almost forgot the most important thing.

How do you get tickets to see it? Well my friends it is easier than you might think. Not only that but if you call right no you can get tickets to see the show at some incredible savings. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru November 13, it is for select seats, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Dames At Sea on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.
