I know what you're thinking. I didn't even know they had broken up. Sorry. That's my little attempt at humor. Gettin' The Band Back Together, is set to begin previews at the Belasco Theatre on July 19, with opening night scheduled for August 13.So what's the show all about? What's that you say? The title alone doesn't give you a clue? O.K. O.K. I'll tell you.
New Jersey born Mitch Papadopolous, who once dreamt about being the next Bon Jovi, has traded in his guitar strings for a more secure and stable lifestyle. Then disaster strikes on his fortieth birthday when his life is turned upside down. He loses his job, and even worse has to move back to New Jersey with his....Mom. Oh but wait. It gets worse. Soon his childhood home is on the brink of foreclosure.
So what does he do now? You guessed it. Get the band back together. Now I don't know about you, so this sounds like it could be a lot of fun. By the way for those of you who want tickets to the show, you have come to the right place. We sell it. In fact we sell every show both On and Off Broadway. Get your tickets to see Gettin' The Band Back Together. Until next time theatre fans.

Introduction: Meet Emily.
A round of "Applause" for the new blogger - me!
Hi Applause blog readers, my name is Emily. I've been with Applause now for about seven months. I'm excited to make my blog debut! I'm hoping I can bring a different or new perspective on theatre as I post some reviews, or just talk about what's going on in the Broadway community.
A little bit about me: I'm originally from Nashville, and although I'm not an actor, Broadway shows are my favorite thing! My work has been published on BroadwayWorld.com and I used to have my own theatre blog back in the day as well.
I'm hoping everyone enjoys another perspective on our Applause blog and I look forward to being a part of this community!

New Musical Head Over Heels To Open On Broadway This Summer
Now I am not ashamed to admit that I am a huge 80's music fan. And one of my favorite's has always been the Go Go's. Now I know what you're thinking. What does that have to do with today's blog? Well if you are a Go Go's fan like me, you know that "Head Over Heels" is one of their most popular songs. Now this Summer, the hits of this iconic band is set to take the Broadway by storm.
Now truth be told, when the show was first announced, I like many assumed that the musical would be about them. Boy was I wrong. Although I have to say, the story that they have come up with is pretty intriguing. So what's it all about? Well according to the show's website, Head Over Heels, is inspired by Philip Sydney's sixteenth century romantic play Arcadia. It features a duke, a mysterious prophecy and two daughters. One mobbed by suitors. The other one? Not so much.
Directing the new musical is Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), with choreography by Spencer Liff ( Falsettos, Hedwig and the Angry Inch). Previews are set to begin at the recently refurbished Hudson Theatre on June 23, with opening night scheduled for July 26. Get your tickets to see Head Over Heels on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre. Who knows? You might just see me there. Until next time theatre fans.

Hello Dolly Reviews
Now I know what you're thinking. Didn't Hello Dolly! already open last year? Yes it did. In fact not only was it well received, but it went on to win four 2017 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, as well as Best Actress in a Musical for it's leading lady Bette Midler.
However as I'm sure you all know, there is a new Dolly Levi in town. Her name? None other than two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway legend Bernadette Peters. So what did the critic's have to say? Let's find out.

Carousel On Broadway
One of my favorite songwriting teams of all time is Rodger's and Hammerstein. From Oklahoma, to The Sound of Music, they are without question the "Godfather's of Musical Theatre". I mean let's face it. Without them there would be no Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, or Lin-Manuel Miranda. Now here we are eighty-five years since their first show premiered on the Great White Way, and one of the theatre's most beloved shows of all time is set to return home.
Carousel, which first opened in 1945, is set to begin previews at the Imperial Theatre on February 28, with opening night scheduled for April 12. Now I know what you're thinking. Why does a show that opened seventy-three years ago need six weeks of previews? I mean it's not like they need to do a bunch of rewrites right? Carousel is about as perfect as it gets my friends.
The show, which is being directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia), and choreographed by New York City Ballet's Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, stars Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful, Waitress). Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry (Shuffle Along, Hamilton), Lindsay Melendez (Godspell, Wicked), and Opera legend Renee Fleming. Now that is what I call an all-star cast. Tickets for the highly anticipated revival are now on sale. Not only that, but we sell them. Get your tickets to see Carousel on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Applause Sells All Events Nationwide
Having been in this business for a long time, I'll admit that the Broadway and London theatre has always been the thing that has kept our industry alive for all these years. Where would we be without monster hits like Hamilton, The Lion King or long running shows like The Phantom of the Opera and Chicago?
I for one would probably not be sitting at my desk writing about theatre that's for sure. Now while we all know that New York and London are considered the theatre capitols of the world, there are other cities with a thriving theatre scene as well. What cities you ask? Well Chicago for starters.
Not only has every major Broadway show of the last few decades made their way thru the "Windy City", but many of the Great White Way's biggest hits actually got there start in Chicago including Tony winners Kinky Boots, The Producers, Spamalot, and other recent hits like On Your Feet, as well as the upcoming Pretty Woman The Musical.
Quite the track record don't you think? Here's hoping that Miss Vivian and her crew are just as successful. Now let's say theatre is not where your interest's lie.I mean there has got to be a few sports fans out there right? I myself am a huge New York Knicks fan O.K. O.K. You can stop laughing any minute now.Now for you sports fans out there like me. you are in luck.
We sell each and every sporting event across the country. In fact, we have access to tickets to sports in every country as well. And I bet you thought we just sold theatre tickets didn't you? Well we don't? But wait. It gets better. We also sell tickets to every concert and event in each and every city too. Plus we are open seven days a week. 365 days a year, That means we are always here ti help with all of your ticket needs. So why not give us a try? You'll be glad you did.
