Well the reviews are in and for the most part they do not look promising. However my guess is if the show does make it into New York this fall it will probably be one of those critic proof shows that should run awhile. It is a perfect show for tourists. After all the original Phantom is still one of Broadway most popular shows twenty-two years later. According to it's website Love Never Dies is scheduled to open in November 2010, at the Neil Simon Theatre. That means they have the next eight months to fix any problems before it's New York opening. We will soon find out. Until next time theatre fans.

Love Never Dies To Begin Previews In London Tonight
That's right theatre fans. The sequel that the whole world has been waiting for is now here. O.K. so it's probably not the whole world but you can't deny that The Phantom of the Opera has a very large fan base. It wouldn't still be running on Broadway after twenty-two years if it didn't. Love Never Dies begins previews tonight at the Adelphi Theater in the West End. Opening night is set for March 9.Originally the show was supposed to have begun two days ago but was postponed for reasons that still have not been revealed. My guess it that it was due to technical difficulties but with a show that big anything is possible. The show is set to open on Broadway this fall at the Neil Simon Theatre.
Is Broadway big enough for two Phantom musicals? Well I don't have a crystal ball but if anyone can pull it off it's Andrew Lloyd Webber. Sure he may recycle the same music over and over again but the man is in his fifth decade in this business so he must be doing something right.
