Still haven't seen the 2011 revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying? Well there is no better time than the present my friends. The show which opened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 27, 2011 stars Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette who won a Tony Award for his hilarious performance as J.B. Biggley. Now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the main reason the show is a such a hit at the box office is because everybody wants to see their favorite sorcerer in training sing and dance across the Broadway stage. Makes sense to me. Good seats are now available for all performances. Not only that but at prices that are lower than they've ever been. Now while this "Special Offer" is good thru November 4, 2011 it is for select seats and subject to availability. Get your tickets to see How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. You will love it.

New Broadway Revival Of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying Now In Previews
It's hard to believe that there are only two revivals opening on Broadway this season. Anything Goes and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Lat year there were six with La Cage Aux Folles being the only one that remains. Of course the fact that it won the Tony Award for Best Revival probably has something to do with it. That and the fact that it's author and fellow Tony winner Harvey Fierstein is starring in the show now. Let's fact it most revivals are lucky to last more than a year. Two years if their lucky. Anything Goes starring Tony winners Sutton Foster and Joel Grey is set to begin previews at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on March 10 with opening night scheduled for April 7.
I know. I know. You came here to get info about the one starring Harry Potter. So let me get to it. How to Succeed begins previews tonight at the Al Hirscfeld Theatre with opening night set for March 27. Four weeks of previews? Who do they think they are Spider-Man? Just kidding. Four weeks is the normal time allotted for previews. Hear that Julie Taymor? Four weeks. Not four months. Enough Spider-Man bashing. I''ll save that until after they open. Look for my blog in April 2012. Now I actually saw the last revival of the show in 1995.
It starred Matthew Broderick who won a Tony Award for his performance as J. Pierrepont Finch and future sitcom star and Emmy winner Megan Mullally as Rosemary. The show ran for a total of 548 performances and was also nominated for Best Revival of a Musical where it lost that year to ShowBoat. Now when I saw it back in the fall of 1995 it was not with Matthew Broderick but with John Stamos in his Broadway debut. He would of course later go on to star in the revivals of Cabaret, Nine, and last year's big flop Bye, Bye Birdie. Leading the cast of this revival is Daniel Radcliffe A.K.A. Harry Potter as Finch and five time Emmy winner John Larroquette (Night Court, The Practice) as his boss J. B. Biggley.
Directing and choreographing the show is Tony and Emmy winner Rob Ashford who scored a hit with last year's revival of Promises, Promises. Will lighting strike twice? We will soon find out. By the way for those of you wanting to buy tickets to see this charming and funny musical you have come to the right place. Good seats are available for all performances. Not only that but if you call right now you can get them for below face value. This "Special Offer" is only good thru April 24 so don't delay. Get your tickets to see How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The 1950's are alive again on Broadway.

Anything Goes Starring Tony Winners Sutton Foster And Joel Grey Now On Sale
Earlier today I posted a blog about the upcoming production of Sister Act The Musical where I mentioned Tony winner Sutton Foster and her rise to stardom since winning the Tony Award in 2002 for her breakthrough performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Well now it's time to talk about her latest production. That's right theatre fans. Broadway's favorite leading lady is set to return to the stage this Spring in the new Broadway revival of Anything Goes.
Joining her in this beloved Cole Porter classic is fellow Tony winner Joel Grey. The show which is being staged by two-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall is set to begin previews at the Stephen Sondheim on March 10 with opening night scheduled for April 7. Now while I personally am not familiar with the show it does feature some of Broadway's most popular songs like " I Get a Kick Out of You",You're the Top", It's De-lovely"and of course the title song "Anything Goes."
As of now the show is scheduled to run thru July 31 but if reviews are good and I expect they will be Anything Goes will be here for a long time. In fact besides the upcoming production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying it is the only other revival opening this season. Weird right? Just last year alone there were six musicals vying for the Tony Award for Best Revival. This year it's a two-horse race. Guess we'll have to wait and see who gets the better reviews. Let the games begin.

Broadway Revival Of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying Now On Sale
In case you've been living under a rock for the last few months you are probably aware that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be making his Broadway musical debut this Spring in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. The show which first premiered on Broadway in October 1961 is set to begin previews at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on February 26. Opening night is scheduled for March 27.
Having seen the last revival in 1995 with Matthew Broderick and future television and Broadway star Megan Mullally. Now when I saw it in the fall of 1995 it starred John Stamos. To my surprise he was very good.In fact I actually saw it twice with him in the leading role. Starring along side Mr.Radcliffe is television and film star John Larroquette as his boss and mentor J.B. Biggley.
Now while most people will probably say that it is too soon for a revival I have one thing to say to you. Gypsy. I take that back. I have two things to say to you. La Cage Aux Follies. Now while both revivals were critically acclaimed and won many awards it had only been five years between productions. It;s been almost fifteen since How To Succeed closed. I say it's about time Broadway had a good old fashioned musical back on the boards. What do you think? Until next time theatre fans.
