New Cast Of Hair To Begin Performances Tonight

Out with the old and in with the new.For those of you who haven't seen Hair yet I suggest you get off your behind and get yourself over to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre to see it. Not only is it one of the greatest shows that I have ever seen but it is one of the best shows running on the Great White Way.

As I said tonight marks the debut of it's new cast. I know what you're thinking. If the show is so good then why did they replace everybody? Well the answer is simple. The original cast was sent to London to open that production. This new cast features a a bevy of Broadway veterans and newcomers including American Idol alums Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young.

The show which is now in it's second year on Broadway continues to electrify audiences of all ages eight times a week at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. All I can say is that you people that are lucky enough to see it in London you are in for a treat. Now for those of you who can't make it across the pond then why I guess you will have to come to New York. It is the greatest city in the world after all. Sure I may be a little bias but it's true. Anyway if you want to see Hair then now is the best time to see it. Not only that but at some incredible prices as well. Get your tickets to see Hair on Broadway or in London. It is a must see.

Final Days To See The Original Cast Of Hair

That's right theatre fans. You only have five more chances to see the Tony nominated cast of Hair. Now don't worry the show is not closing. Instead the entire Broadway company is crossing the pond to open the show in London on April 1. It's new cast headed by American Idol alums Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young are set to begin performances at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on March 9.

I have to tell you that this production of Hair was one of the biggest surprises for me. Going in I knew a few of the songs and had heard good things but I expected it to be a little dated. It does take place in the 1960's after all. Once again I was wrong. The show is just as relevant as it was when it first opened over forty years ago. Probably even more now with all things that are going on in the world. It is a must see.

Now for those of you who may be turned off by the nudity let me stop you right now. It is very brief. Sure it's not one of those "blink and you miss it" moments but it is over pretty quickly. So if you are one of those people who saw it in the 60's or you are like me who had never seen it before it is a great production worth seeing. I suggest seeing it a couple times actually. Get your tickets to see Hair on Broadway and now in London. It is what theatre is all about.
