Harry Connick Jr. - A Celebration Of Cole Porter To Begin Performances Next Week On Broadway

Exciting news theater fans. Two-time Tony Award nominee Harry Connick Jr. is headed back to the Great White Way in Harry Connick Jr. - A Celebration of Cole Porter.

Now while I knew that he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in A Musical in 2006 for his role in The Pajama Game, I had to do a little research on the second one.

As it turns out, it was in 2002 for Best Original Score for Thou Shalt Not, which unfortunately opened to scathing reviews, and closed after eighty-five performances and twenty-two previews.Here's hoping his new show fares better than that one did. Fingers crossed.

The show, which had it's world premier at the Durham Performing Arts Center in North Carolina this past September,  is set to begin performances at the Nederlander Theatre on Saturday December 6, and play thru Sunday December 29. It was also recently announced that the show will embark on a national tour following the Broadway engagement.

Harry Connick Jr. To Begin Performances Tonight On Broadway

That's right music fans. One of the world's most popular singer/songwriters is returning to the Broadway stage. Harry Connick Jr. In Concert begins previews tonight at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway. The show which is scheduled to run thru July 29 will have a total of 13 performances. The last time Mr. Connick Jr. was on Broadway was the 2006 revival of The Pajama Game where he received a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. Most of the run sold out a few weeks ago but there are a some seats left for a few of the shows so don't wait until the last minute. Get your tickets to see Harry Connick Jr. on Broadway. See Harry Connick Jr. On Broadway This July

What? You didn't know that Emmy and Grammy Award winner Harry Connick Jr. was coming back to Broadway? Tickets have only been on sale for the last month or so people. Now for those of you who didn't hear Mr. Connick is playing a limited run at the Neil Simon Theatre beginning on July 15 and running thru July 26. That means you only have a 11 chances to see this two-time Tony nominee strut his stuff on the Great White Way. Although knowing him he will probably spend most of his time behind the piano. Now as of right now it is a limited run but I wouldn't be surprised if the shows extends if sales go well. Besides the theatre doesn't have another show booked until Love Never Dies until the Spring. Harry Connick Jr. To Return To Broadway This July

That's right theatre fans. Returning to Broadway for the first time since his celebrated turn in The Pajama Game in 2006 is Harry Connick Jr.Now besides being a talented musician he's a pretty actor to boot. He is a two-time Tony nominee after all and they just don't give those to just anybody. Anyway it was recently announced that the Grammy and Emmy Award winner is set to begin performances on July 15 at the Neil Simon Theatre. As of now the show is scheduled to run thru July 26 for a total of 11 performances.
