Wonderland To Close On May 15

Having been in the ticket selling business for over a decade now I have seen hundreds of shows come and go. Some that should have closed much sooner than they did and some that quite frankly deserved a longer run. Sadly Wonderland would fall into the latter category. When it closes this Sunday it will have played a total of 31 previews and 33 regular performances. Now while the show was generally panned by the critic's the final nail in the coffin was it's failure to score any nominations for next month's Tony Awards. Being a fan of the show I was expecting the show to at least make it thru the Summer. Guess I was wrong. Until next time theatre fans.

Tickets For Wonderland Now On Sale

That's right theatre fans. One of this season's most highly anticipated new shows is now on sale. Of sure you may not be as excited about Wonderland as I am but trust me if you heard some of the songs you might just change your tune. Believe it or not but in all the years that I have lived here I have never see a Frank Wildhorn musical. That's right. Not only did I not see Jekyll and Hyde but I missed all three versions of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Now besides the music the main reason I am dying to see the show is because of it's leading lady the one and only Janet Dacal. For those of you that are not familiar with her work you are in for a treat my friends. What a talent. Tickets for the show are now on sale. Better yet if you call now you can get tickets to see Wonderland for below face value. This special offer is good thru May 10 so don't delay. Get your tickets to see Wonderland on Broadway. New Broadway Musical Wonderland To Begin Previews This Spring

Now I'll be the first to admit that I am not the biggest Frank Wildhorn fan in the world. In fact I have never seen any of his shows. Not even Jekyll and Hyde and that ran for almost four years. So imagine my surprise when I went to the shows official website a couple of days ago and listened to the music. I loved it. Oh sure some of the lyrics might be a little cheesy but what else would you expect from a musical about Alice In Wonderland. So now after hearing some of the songs I have decided I have to see this show.

Well that and the fact that one of my favorite performers Janet Dacal(In The Heights) is playing the lead role of Alice. If you have not heard this girl sing then you are in for a treat my friends. What a voice. Here's hoping the show is well received and enjoys a long run on the Great White Way. Performances are set to begin previews at the Marquis Theatre on March 21 with opening night set for April 17. Get your tickets to see Wonderland on Broadway. Who knows? Maybe I'll see you there.
