Final Performances Of A View From The Bridge

That's right theatre fans. You only have thirteen more chances to see the critically acclaimed revival of Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge. Now as a ticket broker we usually get the chance to see all the new shows before they open. That way when you call and ask our advice on what or what not to see we can give our expert opinion. Well because A View From The Bridge was so popular we never got a chance to see it. Bad for us but good for the producer's of the show who are reaping the benefits. Now for those of you who didn't get a chance to see this classic drama it's not too late. Good seats are still available thru April 4. Next up at the Cort Theatre is the revival of Fences starring my favorite actor Mr. Denzel Washington. Trust me. I am not going to miss that. Even if I have to buy a ticket myself.

A View From The Bridge Recoups It's Investment

Well that didn't take long now did it? After only three months into it's Broadway run A View From The Bridge has made all it's money back. Although I guess I really shouldn't be that surprised as not only did it receive rave reviews but has constantly been in the top five or six shows for weeks now. Now even though the show remains a big seller it is still set to close on April 4. Taking it's place is the revival of Fences starring Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. Don't be surprised if this show does just as well as it's predecessor. Until next time theater fans.

A View from the Bridge on Broadway Begins a Limited 4 Month Run at New York's Cort Theater

Here's an insiders tip on a great Broadway play you may want to see this season. It is an Arthur Miller play called A View from the Bridge, a play which just opened at New York City's Cort Theater a few days ago. After reading some reviews and finding out that the day after the official opening of A View from the Bridge, that the show took in over $500,000.00 at the box office, it seems obvious that the shows two lead stars could very well be the reason.

A View from the Bridge tickets are already becoming a "hard to get" ticket on Broadway. The play takes place in the 1950's, telling the unique story of Eddie Carbone, a married Brooklyn longshoreman and his fascination with his 17-year old orphaned niece Catherine. Eddie and Catherine are played by big screen stars Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson. Unfortunately for Eddie, apparently Catherine falls for one of Eddie's newly arrived immigrant relatives from Italy. Eddie's jealously gets the best of him and his rage follows him wherever he goes affecting his family and his entire life.

A View from the Bridge has had several revivals on Broadway since Mr. Miller wrote this terrific play in 1956. This show appears to be able to stand the test of time and the shows creative team manage to give the audience the feel that they are really in 1950's Brooklyn, nearby the Brooklyn piers. Direction is by Gregory Mosher who was last seen on Broadway 18 years ago in the revival of A Streetcar Named Desire. Helping to recreate the Brooklyn surroundings are set designer John Lee Beatty and lighting designer Peter Kaczorowski with costume design by Jane Greenwood.

A View from the Bridge tickets are on sale now through April 4, 2010. It's not likely the show will extend its run past this date as Ms. Johansson has a film commitment right after that. The show plays daily and takes Monday's as its day off.

If you think A View from the Bridge is a play that is of interest to you and your family, feel free to contact a local ticket agency called Applause Theater Service (license #71AP1001029) in New York City. These folks have been around the ticket business for more than 22 years now. Applause can offer you some "real" advice on how to get the best seats and prices for A View from the Bridge when you are ready to talk.

I hope you found this information helpful.
