Mary Poppins Turns 2000

No I have not lost my mind. Now while the character of Mary Poppins has been around since the 1930's I am referring to the Broadway production which celebrated it's 2000th performance this past weekend. The show which is based on the 1934 book by P. L. Travers as well as the 1964 movie first premiered in the West End at the Bristol Hippodrome in September 2004 before transferring to the Prince Edward Theatre in December where it remained until January 2008.

Receiving much acclaim as well as winning the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical the show opened on Broadway in November 2006 where it continues to delight audiences of all ages eight times a week at the New Amsterdam Theatre. By the way for those of you who have yet to see this beloved musical there is no better time than right now my friends. Good seats are available right now.

Not only that but at prices that are lower than any other time of the year. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru November 20, 2011 there are a few dates that are not good for the insider price. They are October 8, 9, 14, 15, 22 and 30 Matinee and November 4 and 5 Matinee as well as November 11, 12,18,19 and 20 Matinee.Get your tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. It will make you feel like a kid again. Until next time theatre fans.
