Each year, Gladstone makes phone calls to fellow ticket brokers around the country, with the aim of collecting at least 32 tickets for every NFL preseason home game, including both the New York Jets and New York Giants games. Applause is responsible for gathering ticket donations for the New York teams. In 2015, ticket brokers donated 568 tickets totaling $35,096.00 in the New York football market alone.
"Ticket brokers are an incredibly generous group of people. I'm sure that the NATB is quite proud of all the members of the charity committee, as well as the participating brokers who donate thousands of tickets in all 32 NFL markets," Gladstone added. "The program has so far donated more than 18,000 NFL tickets, valued at over $1 million."
The Applause Tickets team gives all donated tickets to seriously ill children and their families staying at the five Ronald McDonald Houses in the New York City area. Gladstone makes a special effort to collect as many ticket donations as possible for both of the city's NFL teams.
In addition to its charitable work with the NATB, Applause Tickets also donates to a charitable fund established by the New York City Association of Hotel Concierges, for which it is a proud corporate member as well.
Created in 2003, the NYCAHC Charitable Fund works throughout the New York community to improve the quality of life of those in need. The NYCAHC Charitable Fund supports philanthropic efforts throughout New York City, including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, SHARE Cancer Support and Win.
According to Gladstone, "one of the main reasons we decided to become corporate members of the NYCAHC is because we clearly identify with their motto "In Service Through Friendship". Sure, as corporate members Applause Tickets looks forward to doing business with hotel concierge at many of NYC's leading hotels yet we clearly identify with similar charitable goals of the NYCAHC. I feel comfortable in saying on behalf of both of our organizations- that there is nothing more meaningful than giving back."
Gladstone and the Applause Tickets team's future plans include continuing its active participation in the NYCAHC and its charitable activities, especially in making regular monetary contributions to the charitable fund as well as lending a helping hand with the organization's charitable programs.
According to Gladstone, Applause Tickets identifies with the organization's motto, "In Service Through Friendship." He adds that, "there is nothing more meaningful than giving back."
