What's that you say? A new musical that is not based on a hit movie or a book? Is the world coming to an end? Just kidding. Bright Star, which features a new score by Edie Brickell and book by Steve Martin, will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on Broadway on February 25, 2016, with opening night scheduled for March 24. Set in the south during the 1920's and 40's, Bright Star tells the story of literary editor Alice Murphy, who's chance encounter with a young soldier forces her to confront her past and changes both of their lives.
