New Musical Bandstand To Open Tonight On Broadway

BandstandAnother opening. Another show. That's right theatre fans. It's that time again. Time to welcome another show to the Great White Way. Not only that, but it's one of the few new musicals to open this season that is not based on a successful movie. Imagine that? Bandstand, which began previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on March 31, stars two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes (Bonnie and Clyde, Cinderella), and Corey Cott (Newsies, Gigi).

Plus it is being directed and choreographed by two-time Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, In The Heights). So what exactly is the show all about? Well I'll tell you. Set in the "Big Band" era during World War II, Bandstand tells the story of struggling singer-songwriter Donny Novitski and his fellow army buddies. When a national radio station sponsors a contest to find the next big sensation, Donny and his buddies team up with singer and war widow hoping that a win will change all of their lives. Well I'm sold.

By the way for those of you who are looking to purchase tickets for the show, you are in luck. We sell it. In fact if you call right now you can get tickets to see Bandstand at some incredible rates. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru June 20, it is for select seats, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Bandstand on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.
