New Play Hillary And Clinton To Open On Broadway Next Spring

Now before you get too excited, everyone's favorite President and First Lady from Arkansas are not heading to Broadway. Although wouldn't that be the most awesome thing ever?

Hillary and Clinton, which is written by Tony Award nominee Lucas Hnath (A Doll's House, Part Two), stars two-time Tony Award winners Laurie Metcalf (Three Tall Women, A Doll's House, Part Two), and John Lithgow (The Changing Room, Sweet Smell of Success).

Oh and did I mention that it is being directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Assassins, Take Me Out). Quite the lineup don't you think? The show, which first premiered in Chicago at the Victory Gardens Theatre in 2016, also played limited engagements in Philadelphia, Richmond and Dallas.

However in all of those productions, the role of Hillary was performed by an African-American woman. Previews for the show are set to begin on March 16, 2019, with opening night scheduled for April 16. As of now, no theatre has been announced. Stay tuned to this website for further updates. Until next time theatre fans.
