Final Weeks For Off-Broadway's Avenue Q

Avenue QO.K. I'll admit it. I'm in denial. I still cannot believe that one of my favorite show's is set to say goodbye in just a few weeks. Since it opened on Broadway in August 2003, I have seen Avenue Q a total of six times. Now while I loved it more each and every time I saw it, I have to say my favorite time was Thanksgiving week 2003.

My parent's were here for the holiday's, and I got all three of us tickets to see the show. In fact, it was the first Broadway show they had ever seen. Over the years, I have gotten many an eye roll from my friend's and coworkers, who kept wondering why I didn't take them to a more traditional show like The Phantom of the Opera, or The Producers.

And of course don't forget Wicked, which had just opened a few weeks before.Surely, one of those would be more appropriate for a couple in their early fifties. What can I say, I know what my parent's would like, and as it turns out I was right. Oh and just in case you forgot, Avenue Q beat Wicked to win the Tony Award for Best Musical of the Year. So there.

But enough about me. Now for those of you who still haven't seen Avenue Q yet, there is still time. Thirty-nine more times to be exact. Plus if you call right now, you can get tickets to see this award winning show at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru April 28 (Final Performance), it is for select seats only, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Avenue Q Off-Broadway, at New World Stages. Time is running out. Until next time theatre fans.
