2019 Broadway Christmas Schedule

Is it true? Is Christmas finally here? O.K. O.K., I know that we still have almost six weeks until that glorious holiday happens. Doesn't mean a guy can't dream right? Like years past, most shows will have an irregular performance schedule during the week of Christmas. In fact, only seven shows are performing on Christmas Day.They are Chicago, Moulin Rouge, The Phantom of the Opera,Slave Play,Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,Waitress and Wicked. Christmas Is Just Days Away

Image result for christmas in new york logoThat's right theatre fans. Christmas is almost here. Now I don't know about you, but Christmas has always been on of my favorite holiday's. In fact, one of my favorite theatre memories happened during my first Christmas in New York. On that night, I saw She Loves Me at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Now for those of you that aren't familiar with the show, it takes place during the Christmas holidays. I mean can you think of a better way to celebrate the holiday? I sure can't. After the show, I headed to Rockefeller Center to see the tree. What a perfect night!

Now believe it or not, but in all the years that I have lived in New York, I have never been to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Oh well. I'm sure I will see it someday. I mean it's not like it's going anywhere right? Let's hope not. That's the great thing about New York during the holiday's. There is something for everyone. Happy Holidays!

Christmas Is Here

Yes I know Christmas is still almost four weeks away. But let's face it folks. It will be here before you know it. This coming week marks one of the busiest weeks in New York City. Four days ago was the Macy's Day Parade and in three days it will be time for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center. Where does the time go? Now most people that are coming into town in the next couple of weeks are here to shop or see a show on Broadway or the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Yes I know the economy is not what it used to be. That doesn't mean there aren't some great deals out there. Currently there are over twenty-five shows running on Broadway and Off-Broadway that offer special "insider deal" prices. Spend that extra money on gifts or souvenirs for your family and then sit back and enjoy the show. Yes theatre can be expensive but it doesn't have to be. Winter Sensation Wintuk Now On Sale

Crowd favorite Wintuk returns to New York City this November. The show which first premiered in 2007 is the latest in a string of hits from Cirque du Soleil. According to the official website "Wintuk tells the story of Jamie who lives in an imaginary city where the arrival of winter has brought intense cold but no snow.He interacts with a cast of high-energy urban street characters, including acrobats, dancers and talking lampposts. Jamie embarks on a journey to an imaginary North called Wintuk. He is joined by three companions—a female Shaman with magical powers, the girl he has fallen head over heels for and a timid young man called Wimpy, destined to discover his own courage. Jamie's goal: bring the snow back to where it belongs."

Performances are set to begin on November 11, 2009 at the WaMu Theatre and run thru January 3, 2010. Prices range from $64-$112 for Previews. $64-$149 for Non-Peak Performances and $74-$170 for Peak Performances. Tickets have been selling well so call Applause now to get your tickets to see Wintuk.
