See Broadway's Lombardi For Below Face Value This Spring

Still haven't seen Lombardi yet? Well there is no better time than right now. The show which opened at the Circle in the Square Theatre in October 2010 is based on When Pride Still Mattered:A Life of Vince Lombardi by Pulitzer-Prize winning author David Maraniss and takes place in 1965 over a period of a week in the life of football legend Vince Lombardi.

Now while reviews were good for the play the show struggled at the box office for the first couple of months. I like most thought the show was going to close in January. However the producers of the show have decided to continue despite it's low ticket sales. In fact it was recently announced the play would now run thru June 19.

Which incidentally is exactly one week after this year's Tony Awards. Believe it or not but there are seven new plays opening this season which is the most that I can recall in years. Can Lombardi hang on for the next four months with such stiff competition? We will soon find out. Until then why not see Lombardi for prices that can't be beat. From now thru April 10 good seats are available for below face value. Get your tickets to see Lombardi on Broadway. Go Packers!

Broadway's Lombardi Now On Sale Thru June

That's right theatre fans. Or should I say football fans at this point. Lombardi, which is based on football legend and former Green Bay Packer's coach Vince Lomabardi recently announced that the critically acclaimed drama has opened up a new block of seats thru June 19,2011. Now while I personally have not seen the show I have only heard good things about it. The show which opened at the Circle In The Square Theatre on October 21 stars Dan Laurie (TV's The Wonder Years) as Vince and Judith Light (Who's The Boss, Ugly Betty) as his loving and supportive wife Marie. Now while the show was praised by both critics and audiences alike it was not a hit at first.

However with football season in swing and the backing of the NFL the show looks to be around for awhile. That's great news as there are in the last few years there have been very few plays on Broadway by American playwrights. Now don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good Tom Stoppard or Eugene O'Neill play everyone in a while. I just wish we had more plays like August:Osage County and Time Stands Still. By the way for those of you who still haven't seen Lombardi yet you have come to the right place. From now thru February 20 you can get tickets to see Lombardi for below face value. Plus the fact that the show is performed in the round mean that there is not a bad seat in the house. Good seats are still available so call now.

New Play Lombardi To Go On Sale Next Week

That's right theatre fans. Or should I say football fans. Lombardi, which is based on football legend and coach Vince Lombardi will go on sale on August 9,2010. Previews will begin at the Circle In The Square Theatre on September 21 with opening night set for October 21. The show which is based on the best selling biography When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi stars Wonder Years dad Dan Lauria as Lombardi and Who's The Boss star Judith Light as his wife Marie.

Now I personally am not a big football fan like most of my friends but I am always up for a new American play. By the way for those of you who want to see the show you have come to the right place. From now thru November 21 all seats are available at prices that can't be beat. For those of you who have never been to the Circle In The Square it is one of Broadway's smallest theatres. Not only that but the seating is in the round so all the seats are good. Get your tickets to see Lombardi on Broadway. Football season has officially begun. Until next time.
