Tracy Lett's The Minutes To Begin Previews Tomorrow Night On Broadway

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to see this show theatre fans. Not only is Tracy Letts one of my favorite playwright's of the past fifteen years, but he's also starring in it as well. The Minutes, which premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 2017, is set to begin previews at the Cort Theatre on February 25, with opening night scheduled for March 15.

Directed by Tony Award winner Anne D. Shapiro (August: Osage County), The Minutes stars Tony Award winner's Jessie Mueller and Blair Brown, Tony Award nominee's K. Todd Freeman and Austin Pendleton, Ian Barford, Cliff Chamberlin, Armie Hammer, Danny McCarthy, Sally Murphy, and Jeff Still.

New Tracy Letts Play The Minutes Is Now On Sale

One of my favorite theatrical experiences of the last fifteen years, was the Broadway premier of August: Osage County. The show, which won five 2008 Tony Awards, including Best Play of the Year, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, played for a total of six hundred and forty-eight performances, and eighteen previews.

Now I know what you're thinking. What does this have to do with today's blog? Well as it turns out, the author of August: Osage County, is also the same author as The Minutes, which is set to begin previews at the Cort Theatre on February 25, 2020.

The show, which also stars Tony Award winners Jessie Mueller and Blair Brown, Tony Award nominees Austin Pendleton and K.Todd Freeman, will officially open on March 15, and play thru June 14. Pulitzer Prize And Tony Award Winner Tracy Letts New Play Linda Vista To Open On Broadway This Fall

One of my favorite theatrical experiences of all time was seeing the Broadway production of August:Osage County. The show, which premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago in 2007, would go on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, as well as the Tony Award for Best Play of the Year. Now here we are twelve years later, and playwright Tracy Letts is headed back to Broadway in a brand new play.

Linda Vista, which premiered at the Steppenwolf Thetare in March 2017, is set to begin previews at the Hayes Theatre on September 19, and play thru November 10. So what is the show about? Well according to the shows website, Linda Vista tells the story of fifty year old Wheeler. His marriage is over, his job is mundane, and the best years of his life appear to be behind him.

A move from the cot in his ex-wife’s garage to his own apartment opens up new possibilities for love and sex—complicated, painful and hilarious. Full of opinions, yet short on self-examination, Wheeler must reconcile the man he has become with the man he wants to be. Well I'm sold. As of now no on sale date has been announced. Superior Donuts Begins Previews Tonight

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about seeing this show. I was a big fan of Tracy Letts last masterpiece August:Osage County and I am hoping this one is going to be just as good. Here is a synopsis of his new work Superior Donuts. "Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This provocative comedy, set in the heart of one of Chicago's most diverse communities, explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship."

This new play which first premiered in Chicago in the summer of 2008 at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Previews begin tonight with an official opening set for Oct 1.

Superior Donuts will play Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM, Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM, and Sunday at 3 PM.

Superior Donuts Box Office Opens Today

Superior Donuts,the new play by Tony and Pulitzer winning playwright Tracy Letts is set to begin previews at the Music Box Theatre on September 16. His last show August:Osage County was a personal favorite of mine and I am really looking forward to this new production. The play which like August:Osage County premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago received great reviews and will officially open on October 1. It was recently announced that the entire Chicago company will be reprising their roles for the Broadway run.

New Tracy Letts Play Announces Theatre

It was announced today that Superior Donuts,the highly anticipated new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts(August:Osage County)has found a home. The show which opened to rave reviews in 2008 at Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre will begin previews on September 16 at the Music Box Theatre.The official opening is set for October 1. I can not wait to see this new show. August:Osage County which sadly is closing this Sunday after a near two-year run is one of the best shows that I have ever seen and I expect this new production to be just as good.
