NATB Gives Back

Good afternoon theatre fans. For those of you who read my blogs, you know that most, if not all of my blogs deal with the theatre. After all, the name of our company is called Applause
Theatre and Entertainment Service.

However today's blog is about something else. Now you've all heard of the Ronald McDonald House right?

Well just in case you haven't, the Ronald McDonald House Charities was founded in 1974 by the McDonald's Corporation, whose mission was to provide support as well as improve the health and well being of children.

Sounds like a great cause to me. Now what you may not know is that since 2009, the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB) have partnered with the Ronald House McDonald House Charities, to provide tickets to each NFL pre-season game. Not only that, but since that time the NATB has contributed over a $100,000 to the annual RHMC Awards of Excellence, which honors a bevy of dedicated professionals and everyday citizens alike, whose continuing efforts have not only changed, but improved thousands of young children's lives.

Now I've been selling tickets for over eighteen years now. In that time I've spoken to thousands of different people, from all walks of life. I can honestly say that there is nothing greater than knowing that you helped give someone an experience that they will never forget. Which is why this program is so important.

By the way, if anyway of you out there are interested in contributing to this amazing cause, feel free to email Richard Gladstone, President of Applause Theatre and Entertainment at rich@applause-tickets.com or give him a call at 212-307-7050.  Have a great day everyone!

National Association of Ticket Brokers "Gives Back"

If you've ever purchased tickets for a Broadway Show, Sporting Event or a Rock Concert anywhere in the United States, you may have had the opportunity to buy your tickets from a member of the NATB, which stands for the National Association of Ticket Brokers. The NATB is a non-profit trade organization made up of nearly 200 or so legitimate ticket resellers throughout the country. The NATB has a "code of ethics" and represents its ticket broker members as well as the active promoting of "consumer protection" whenever the public engages in the purchasing of tickets. In addition the NATB has been actively promoting members to be "good neighbors" in their communities. We think the best way to be a good neighbor is simply by "giving back" to our local communities where we run our businesses all around the country.

Although most people know that a legitimate ticket broker provides a much needed service for a reasonable price, I'd like to share a story with you that you may not be aware of. Our NATB organization has just "kicked off" an official multi-year partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities which will include ticket donations from many NATB ticket broker members as well as volunteerism at local Ronald McDonald House chapters throughout the United States. This new partnership is part of the NATB Gives Back 32 for 32 Program where ticket brokers, their staff and families have generously given tickets to NFL preseason football games as well as volunteer time to assist the families of children with difficult medical challenges.

According to Marty Coyne, the President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities, he said "RMHC and our local chapters rely on the generous donations of our corporate partners and the NATB is providing valuable contributions in terms of volunteers and entertainment for our families. Our families are going through difficult medical situations with their child, and NATB is giving them a chance to relax and take their minds off their worries-if only for a few moments. This partnership is a natural extension of our mission to support families-both financially and emotionally-during a very difficult time of their lives."

The three year 32 for 32 Program will donate 32 tickets for every NFL preseason game in each of the 32 NFL markets. In addition, our members are giving 32 hours of volunteer time at one of the many Ronald McDonald Houses around the country.

As of today the NATB has donated $117,661.64 in NFL ticket donations as well as 298 hours of volunteer time. Wow! Every day there are more and more volunteers from NATB ticket broker companies all over the country giving additional tickets and acts of volunteerism. I am personally so proud of the people that are helping out with this effort. For a list of contributors click here.

If you're a ticket broker and can help the NATB in its mission to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities by giving ticket donations of any kind or volunteer hours, we would greatly appreciate your assistance today. Every minute counts. Any ticket donations are greatly appreciated. It feels so great to help others in need.

Please click here and see how you to can join the NATB in its mission of "giving back" to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Thank you for caring.

NATB Gives Back Program Is Set To Kick Off on August 13, 2009

ONLY 3 DAYS TILL NATB RONALD MCDONALD NFL GAMES BEGIN-WE NEED YOUR HELP

For many individuals, giving donations to various charities involve the simple act of writing out a check to a cause one feels concerned about or identifies with. I know that for myself and my family, this has often been the case. Until recently.

Being a ticket broker for nearly 32 years now, primarily involved with Broadway ticket sales, it is only over the past year or so that I have been fortunate to have become involved with my trade industry associations charity efforts. It's called NATB Gives Back. The NATB Gives Back Program is the charitable group within the National Association of Ticket Brokers.

The goal of the NATB Gives Back mission is to make a positive impact in the communities that support our businesses around the country. This endeavor will provide leadership, programs and education to NATB members and include creating partnerships with charitable and community organizations. In addition, we will increase visibility and perception of our industry, create ongoing fundraising and volunteering in our local communities and create many opportunities for people to experience live entertainment, who might not otherwise have the chance to.

I'm pleased to report that on August 13, 2009 the efforts of several hundred members of the NATB (National Association of Ticket Brokers) will proudly kickoff its first sponsorship entitled "32 for 32". This is the first sponsorship in a 3 year program with Ronald McDonald House Charities whereby NATB's goal is to establish a ticket donation and volunteer program that will have many of its members work hand in hand with local Ronald McDonald House's and RMHC events in local communities throughout the United States.

In order to reach its goal, NATB Gives Back has been asking NATB members for donations for 32 tickets to every NFL preseason game in all 32 NFL cities. In addition NATB members will be donating 32 hours of volunteer work in each of these markets as well throughout the year.

I'm pleased to report that the members of the NATB have been incredibly generous with well over 2000 ticket donations received to date as well as the many volunteer hours signed up for so far. In the days ahead we will continue to ask for ticket broker members of the NATB to participate in the 32 for 32 Program efforts and simply donate preseason NFL tickets as well as sign up for volunteer hours at a local Ronald McDonald House.

As the saying goes "every little bit counts". Whether you donate 2 tickets, 2 hours of time or 32 tickets or 32 hours of time, the NATB Gives Back Program needs your help as we strive to reach the goal line. The first NFL preseason games begin on Thursday August 13, 2009.

If you can donate tickets or volunteer time for this much worthy cause please contact Sara Drake at the National Association of Ticket Brokers at 630-510-4594 or sara@natb.org. You can also send an email to natbgivesback@natb.org. To donate tickets or time simply include in the subject line, the team, date, quantity of tickets or volunteer hours with your detailed contact information in the body of the message please.

If you need any additional information or want to talk about the 32 for 32 Program, feel free to call me personally at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930 in New York or send me an email at rich@applause-tickets.com.
It feels so good to give to others, We hope you can help.

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
