Sequel To Tony Award Winner All The Way To Open On Broadway This Fall

One of my favorite theatrical experiences of the past decade, was seeing Bryan Cranston is his Tony Award winning performance as former President Lyndon B. Johnson in Robert Schenkkan's All The Way.

The show, which also won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Play of the Year, remains one of the finest plays that I have ever seen. Now here we are five years late r, and it's sequel The Great Society, is set to begin previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on September for a twelve week run.

Now while All The Way focused on Johnson's presidency following the assassination of JFK, The Great Society takes place following the election of 1964, amid the Vietnam War as well as the Civil Rights Movement. Starring as LBJ in the highly anticipated sequel is Olivier and Emmy Award winner Brian Cox. Quite the replacement don't you think?

Also announced to star along side Mr. Cox is Tony Award nominee Marc Kudish as Richard J. Daley, Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas as Hubert Humphrey, and Grantham Coleman, who is making his Broadway debut as Martin Luther King. As of now no on sale date has been announced. Be sure to check this website for further updates. Until next time theatre fans.
