Customer Story

Moulin Rouge The MusicalToday's customer story comes all the way from the "Land of 1,000 Lakes". That's right. I am talking about the great state of Minnesota. Eden Prairie to be exact. A few days ago, I got a call from a customer who came to us via her travel agent, who was planning a trip to New York later this month, and wanted to see a show or two while she was here.

Correction. She wanted to see four shows while she was here. Anyway, after finding out when she would be here, I asked her what she wanted to see. Her first choice was of Broadway's longest running shows. That's right. I am talking about Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, which will play it's final performance on October 27.

Thankfully she was getting here before it closed. Now as far as the remaining shows, she picked three of the most popular shows on Broadway. Care to guess which ones? Show number one is the highest grossing play in Broadway history. The second is last season's biggest Tony Award winner. And show number three is one of this season's biggest hit's.

Give up? Well, if you guessed To Kill A Mockingbird, Hadestown, and Moulin Rouge, then you would be right. Now she knew that due to the popularity of each show, they would be expensive. She was right. Not as expensive as Hamilton mind you, but still more expensive than most shows. In the end, I was able to find her excellent seats, and at prices that were actually lower than she was expecting. So there you have it folks, four amazing shows, with great seats and prices to boot. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Image result for moulin rouge broadway logoThat's right theatre fans. The wait is finally over. In just a few hours, the curtain is set to rise on one of this season's most highly anticipated shows. In fact, it is the first musical of the 2019-2020 Broadway season.

Moulin Rouge, which is based on the 2001 Baz Luhrmann film, began previews at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on June 28, following a sold out critically acclaimed production last summer at the Colonial Theatre in Boston.

The show, which features a book by Tony Award winner John Logan (Red), and direction by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Beetlejuice), includes not only the pop favorites and original songs from the film, but also a slew of new songs that have been released since the film's premier like Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," Sia's "Chandelier," and Beyoncé's "Single Ladies."

Tickets have been flying out the door since going on sale last year. Now that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. You just may have to spend a little more. By the way, for those of you who want tickets to see Moulin Rouge, you are in luck. We sell it. In fact, we sell every new play and musical on Broadway. Get your tickets to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.
