Emmy Winner Bryan Cranston To Open On Broadway This Winter In All The Way

Wait a minute. Walter White on Broadway? It's true. Now relax Breaking Bad fans. They are not turning your favorite show into a big splashy Broadway musical. I just wanted to get your attention. What is happening of course is that three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston is coming to Broadway in a new play. All The Way,written by Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Schenkkan is set to begin previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on February 10, 2014 with opening night scheduled for March 6, 2014. Interesting fact. This will be the first play at the Neil Simon Theatre since A View From the Bridge played there in 1998.

Now I'll be honest I have never seen an episode of Breaking Bad. The truth is the only thing that I have seen him Mr. Cranston in is Seinfeld and How I Met Your Mother. But let's face it. A man doesn't win an Emmy three years in a row if he isn't good. Plus based on his stellar reviews from the shows most recent run at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge we might just see a Tony nomination and possible win in his future. But enough about it's star. You probably want to know what the shows about before you see it don't you? So here you go. Enjoy!

"1963. An assassin’s bullet catapults Lyndon Baines Johnson into the presidency. A Shakespearean figure of towering ambition and appetite, the charismatic, conflicted Texan hurls himself into Civil Rights legislation, throwing the country into turmoil. Alternately bullying and beguiling, he enacts major social programs, faces down opponents and wins the 1964 election in a landslide. But in faraway Vietnam, a troublesome conflict looms. In the Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright’s vivid dramatization of LBJ’s first year in office, means versus ends plays out on a broad stage canvas as politicians and civil rights leaders plot strategy and wage war."

Now I don't know about you but it sure sounds like a winner to me. What do you think? Tickets for the highly anticipated show are scheduled to go on sale on December 14 so mark that day down on your calendars or you might miss out on what is sure to be the theatrical event of the Winter. Get your tickets to see Bryan Cranston as Lyndon B. Johnson at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway. Until next time theatre fans.
