One of my favorite actors has always been Frank Langella. Whether starring in a movie or on stage, he always gives a terrific performance. Mr. Langella is a Three-time Tony Award winner (nominated 6 times) and Oscar nominee who will be performing in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of The Father this Spring.
Beginning on March 22, 2016, Mr. Langella, who recently turned 78 years old, will play the role of Andre, a retired dancer who is living with his adult daughter and son-in-law. Or could he have been an engineer whose daughter is living in London with her new boyfriend? Is he possibly losing control of his grasp of reality? He seems to be forgetting things for sure.
The Father will play at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on west 47th Street in the theater district in New York City for a limited engagement. It has received fantastic reviews in London and in Paris and won the Moliere Award for "new work in the theater", which is France's most prestigious honor.
On stage Mr. Langella will be accompanied by Kathryn Erbe (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Brian Avers (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), Charles Borland (A Man for All Seasons), Hannah Cabell (A Man for All Seasons) and Liz Wisan (Other Desert Cities). This is truly a group of very talented actors and I'm looking forward to seeing a preview performance of The Father soon.
My company Applause Tickets has the ability to help theatergoers obtain discounted The Father tickets as we have an inside track on how to get the best seats at the most reasonable prices. The Father will open to critics reviews on April 12, 2016 and it's possible for these reduced rates to not be available any longer. We anticipate the critics giving The Father excellent reviews.
