That's right theatre fans. One of the theatre's most beloved shows of all time is back on the Great White Way. My Fair Lady, which first premiered on Broadway in 1956, began previews tonight at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. Opening night is scheduled for April 19. Now believe it or not, but I have never seen a live production of this beloved musical. However you can bet that I won't miss this one.
The show, which was last revived on Broadway in 1993, stars Emmy nominee Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as Eliza Doolittle, and Harry Hadden-Paton as Professor Henry Higgins, Two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), and Tony Award winner Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones) as Mrs. Higgins. Quite the cast don't you think?
Not only that, but directing this cast of award winning actor's is Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher (South Pacific, The King and I), with choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gatelli (Newsies, South Pacific). Now for those of you who want tickets to see the show, you are in luck. We sell it. In fact we sell every new play and musical opening this season. Get your tickets to see My Fair Lady on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. Expect the show to be a huge contender at this year's Tony Awards. Until next time theatre fans.
