I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about this show. Believe it or not, but my first exposure to the theatre was the Sound of Music. And who wrote that musical masterpiece? Why none other than the same composer's of Carousel. That's right theatre fans. I'm talking about the songwriting duo of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.
The show, which first premiered on the Great White Way in April 1945, began previews last night at the Imperial Theatre, with opening night scheduled for April 12. Last month, I wrote a blog about how the show is having an unusually long preview period.Six weeks to be exact. Oh well. I guess they just want it to be perfect. By the way, tickets for the show have been selling like gangbusters ever since it was first announced.
Now that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. You can. In fact if you call right now, you can get great seats at a reduced rate. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru September 2, it is for select seats, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Carousel on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre. It is theatre at it's finest.
