Is "Grease" still the word? Applause Theatre Service has learned that it is not! Set to close January 4, 2009

Applause Theatre Service heard a big rumor that "Grease" will close on January 4, 2009 today and sure thing it will...by my count 10 shows are closing in January, almost all of them long-runs, award-winners, or both: Spamalot, Spring Awakening, Hairspray, Forbidden Broadway, Boeing-Boeing, 13, Grease, Young Frankenstein, Slava's Snowshow, Liza at the Palace and White Christmas! Am I forgetting any?
I have never seen a January like this one for as long as I've been in the business, 20 plus years now. Scary! I have to be honest, I did not see this one coming.
