Jane Fonda's New Play, 33 Variations will arrive on Broadway at the Eugene O'neill Theatre February 9, 2009

Applause Theatre Service has learned the Jane Fonda is coming back to Broadway in Moisés Kaufman's new music-rich play, 33 Variations. This is going to be huge! It will play the Eugene O'Neill Theatre starting Feb. 9, 2009 for a 15-week engagement and will officially open March 9 and continue to May 24. The O'neill currently houses the Tony Award winning Best Musical, "Spring Awakening" which is set to close January 18th unfortunately. 33 Variations tells the story of Katherine Brandt (Jane Fonda), a woman racing against time to solve the riddle of a composer's 200-year-old obsession," according to production notes. "As she faces her daughter, her past and Beethoven himself Katherine must struggle to embrace the legacy of her own life."

The performance schedule is Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM with a Wednesday and Saturday matinee at 2 PM and Sunday matinee at 3 PM. There will be a performance on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at 8 PM; there will not be a performance on Feb. 11 at 2 PM, Feb. 15 and March 10, 2009.
Tuesdays at 7 PM begin on March 17, 2009.
