Let me just start off by saying how excited I am about this show. Seeing the original production of Spring Awakening was a highlight of mine. Hard to believe that was almost nine years ago. Now here we are in 2015 and the show is set to return in a way no one though possible. So what makes this new production different from it's Tony Award winning predecessor? Well to begin with over half of the actor's are hearing impaired. In fact it's being produced by Deaf West Theatre Company, which if you recall had a hit twelve years ago with their Tony nominated production of Big River.
Now I love Big River. But not even I was prepared for the emotion and passion that production portrayed on that stage. It truly was a night in the theatre that I will never forget. Here's hoping Spring Awakening is a hit too.
Be advised that the show is only playing for a limited engagement. That means you only have until January 9, 2016 to see what is sure to be one of this season's highlight's. Get your tickets to see Spring Awakening on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. You will love it.
