Coming to Broadway: The Cher Show

Following a brief run at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, the Cher biopic musical The Cher Show is set to debut on Broadway in December.

Starring Stephanie J. Block as the timeless superstar herself, The Cher Show is bound to be the most glamorous show of the season.

Her official name is Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere Bono Allman, but the world knows her simply as Cher. She first gained popularity as the second half of the husband-wife duo Sonny and Cher after their single "I Got You Babe" reached number one on the American and UK charts. Cher has had a huge career, including 25 studio albums, a Grammy Award, Emmy Award, Academy Award and three Golden Globes.

The Cher Show will tell the story of Cher, her personal life, her professional life, and everything in between her six decade long career.

Other casting for The Cher Show includes Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond playing the star in different periods of her life, Jarrod Spector as Sonny Bono, and Emily Skinner as Georgia Holt.

The show will include 35 songs. It has a book by Rick Elice; music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Daryl Waters; choreography by Christopher Gattelli; and it is directed by Jason Moore.

The Cher Show opens for previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on November 1st, and has an official opening December 3rd. This is certainly not one to miss, and it's just in time for the holiday season.
