Something big is coming to Broadway - King Kong!

On November 8th, just in time for the holiday season, King Kong will open at the Broadway Theatre.

Following a successful run in Australia, King Kong features a score composed by Marius de Vries, songs by Eddie Perfect, direction and choreography by Drew McOnie, and a book by Jack Thorne (who also wrote Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

This show is a long time coming: it was first announced in 2010. It was supposed to come to Broadway in 2013, then was delayed to 2014. Finally the show is to make it's debut, and it's going to be a big one.

Though the cast is not a large one, the main star of the show is huge. King Kong will be a huge animation puppet, standing 20 feet tall and over 2,000 pounds. It will be controlled by a team of artists and technicians. Principle casting is Christiani Pitts as Ann Darrow and Eric William Morris will play Carl Denham.

Previews for King Kong start on October 5th, and the official opening date is November 8th.
