Broadway's The Phantom of The Opera Celebrates A Milestone

Has it really been thirty-one years since The Phantom of the Opera opened on Broadway? I can barely remember what I was doing last week, let alone thirty-one years ago. The show, which officially opened at the Majestic Theatre on January 26, 1988, will celebrate it's 13,000 performance on the Great White Way.

Since then, the show has been seen by over eighteen million people, grossed over one billion dollars at the box office, and is the longest running show in Broadway history.
