Now believe it or not, but I have never seen The Notebook. Not only that, but I've never even read the book. Trust me, I am surprised too. After all, I'm a hopeless romantic. But enough about me. You came here to get a little more info on the upcoming production of this classic love story.Published in 1996, the Nicholas Sparks novel debuted on the New York Times Bestseller List in it's first week in release. Not too shabby. Now while the 2004 film received mixed reviews, it was a hit at the box office, and won multiple awards including eight Teen Choice Awards. Now here we are some twenty- two years later, and The Notebook is about to take the world by storm once again via the Broadway stage.
With a score by Platinum selling recording artist Ingrid Michaelson, and a book by writer and producer Bekah Brunstetter (This Is Us), The Notebook is being produced by three-time Tony Award winner Kevin McCollum (Rent, Avenue Q, In The Heights), and Grammy Award winner and President of Sh-K-Boom Records Kurt Deutsch.As of now, no further creative team or casting has been announced.
