That's right theatre fans. Our should I say Hugh Jackman fans. I mean let's face it the only people that are going to buy tickets to the show is to see him. Am I right? Previews are set to begin at the Broadhurst Theatre on October 25 and run thru January 1, 2012. The show which played a limited run at the Curan Theatre in San Fransisco this past May features an eighteen piece Orchestra and will see the Tony winner perform selections from Oklahoma and The Boy From Oz as well as some of Hollywood's favorite songs. Tickets are now on sale so don't delay. Get your tickets to see Hugh Jackman in Back On Broadway. Expect the show to be one of this season's biggest hits.

A Steady Rain Plays an Extra Show on Broadway Sunday December 6, 2009
Time is running out to get the chance to see Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig on the Broadway stage as their limited engagement in A Steady Rain comes to an end this Sunday December 6, 2009. In addition to the usual 3pm performance there will be a 7pm show added.
The 7pm show will be the final performance of A Steady Rain at the Schoenfeld Theater in New York City. Proceeds from this performance will go to benefit New Yorkers For Children and The NYCPBA Widows & Children's Fund.
A Steady Rain is a new play written by Keith Huff with direction by John Crowley. The show has been playing to near capacity audiences since September. A Steady Rain tells the story about a few harried days in the lives of two Chicago police detectives, lifelong friends until their differing view of events changed their lives permanently.
A Steady Rain is played by the actors on stage without much staging other than a few chairs and a light. Although you can consider the play monologue like, somehow Mr. Jackman and Mr. Craig manage to make this play exciting. Exciting so as I felt myself sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next development to occur.
On behalf of Broadway theater lovers everywhere, I would like to personally thank everyone associated with A Steady Rain for bringing this show to Broadway. Halfway through the 2009-2010 new Broadway season, A Steady Rain gave us something to cheer about.
Cheers,
Rich Gladstone

Final Two Weeks For Three Shows
That's right playgoers.Sunday December 6 will mark the end for three shows. Hamlet, After Miss Julie, and A Steady Rain. Now the one thing these three shows have in common is that they were all limited runs. That's where the similarities stop.Let's take a look.
Hamlet-Let's be honest. Most people are not going to the show because the are fans of William Shakespeare's. Although the man sure knows how to write dramas. The main selling point is film star Jude Law. Now while he does have a following I don't think the show would have been as well received if he didn't have the acting chops to pull it off. According to everything I've read he does. Hopefully we won't have to wait another fourteen years to see this talented actor on the boards again.
After Miss Julie-This new adaptation of Strindburg's Miss Julie marks the Broadway debut of film star Sienna Miller who by the way also just happens to be the ex of Hamlet himself, Jude Law. While the show received mix reviews Ms. Miller was praised for her work in the show. Dare I suggest a revival of Streetcar with her and Mr. Law in 2011. Wishful thinking perhaps.
A Steady Rain-Last but certainly not least is a new play by playwright Keith Huff. The show which first premiered in Chicago stars a pair of unknown actor's who play two of Chicago's finest. Kidding. We all know the only reason this show has been breaking box office records is because of the shows two stars. Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. These two could have read the phone book for ninety minutes and it still would have made money. Now whether or not these two are remembered come Tony time is another story.
Well there you are. Three shows. Three closings. Tickets are still available for all shows. Which will you choose? Until next time.

A Steady Rain To Open On Broadway Tonight
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past month or so you know that a little play called A Steady Rain is officially opening on Broadway tonight at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig.Audiences have been flocking to the theatre since it first started and most performances are already sold out for this limited run.
The show which has already gotten a lot of press because of it's two stars has recently become a tabloid sensation due to a recent incident at last week's show. Take a look.
Video-A Steady Rain
Some people are speculating that this unplanned interruption is actually a plant. In fact my co-worker attended the show two weeks ago and the same exact thing happened . Is it just a coincidence or part of the show? Who knows. I guess we will have to wait for the reviews tomorrow to find out. I will keep you posted.Until next time theatre fans.
P.S. Don't forget. The show is only scheduled to run thru December 6. Get your tickets before it is too late.

A Steady Rain Shines on Broadway
I went with one of my very close friends to see a show I really wasn't sure was going to be one that would be a highlight in this relatively new Broadway Show season. Fortunately for us, the show is a real winner indeed. The play is called A Steady Rain which is a new American play written by Chicago native Keith Hoff, a member of Chicago Dramatists, a very well known theatrical organization.Mr. Hoff has written A Steady Rain which has been performed Off Broadway a while back and is playing at New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theater for a very limited 12 weeks only. This play is the first in what will be Mr. Hoff's trilogy of stories he has written. The other two, just completed recently are called The Detectives Wife and Tell Us of the Night. A Steady Rain is fortunate to have John Crowley as its director.
A Steady Rain is a two character play about two extremely close-knit, life long friends that are also police officers and partners and how events that take place during several days in their life affect their relationship. The setting is in modern day Chicago. The excellent writing in A Steady Rain is complimented by two very capable all-around actors of modern times, Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig.
I have seen Hugh Jackman a few years ago when he starred in The Boy From Oz on Broadway. That show also played in Australia as well. Mr. Jackman won Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards for The Boy From Oz. He also starred in Carousel at New York's Carnegie Hall. He also appeared in Oklahoma! in New York and in London and he received an Olivier Award nomination for the London production. In addition he played in Sunset Boulevard for which he won the MO Award, which is the Australian equivalent to our Tony Award here. Lastly he received a MO Award nomination for his starring role in Beauty and the Beast. Hugh Jackman has appeared in many films as well, most recently starring in the X- Men series as Wolverine. In A Steady Rain, he plays the role of Denny, a veteran Chicago cop who is married and has 2 children.
Daniel Craig plays the role of Joey, Denny's single, police office partner and very close friend. Mr. Craig is an extremely talented character actor who is making his Broadway debut in A Steady Rain. He is best known as playing the starring role of James Bond # 6 in Casino Royale.. He has appeared in lots of movies and on the stage overseas. Although I never had the opportunity to see him act previously, I am sure Mr. Craig will have a very long career and hope to see him back on Broadway in the near future.
Since this is only a two character actor play, both gentlemen do a superb job at performing their monologues while still managing to get the audience to feel like we could very well be at the dining room table with them or next to them while driving in their police cars. Not an easy feat when you consider that there is really no scenery on stage, just 2 light fixtures. They manage to get you to feel for each of these men as their struggles come to light.
A Steady Rain is only 90 minutes long and has no intermission. Although many performances are sold out, I have found out that there are still tickets available for many performances as well.
If you think you might like to see a performance of A Steady Rain, it might make sense to start looking for tickets now. If you want some advice on where to look for tickets at reasonable "non scalper" prices, give me a call personally at Applause Ticket Agency right here in New York City. We can search the inventory of available seats for you and offer a good seat at a fair price. No pressure of course.
If you can use some advice on other Broadway Show possibilities, click here for an up-to-date current listing of shows. Applause offers many popular shows at below face value prices as sometimes shows that don't sell all their seats offer special rates for our customers.
I love the Broadway Theater and wish you memorable times there, whatever you choose to see.
Good luck to you.
Sincerely,Rich Gladstone

A Steady Rain Box Office To Open August 20
A Steady Rain, the new show starring a cast of unknowns is set to begin previews on September 10 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The show which as of yet has received very little press or any buzz will officially open on September 29 and run thru December 6. If you haven't figured out by now I am totally kidding. The show already has a huge advance and so far quite a few dates are already sold out. Now that doesn't mean you still can't get tickets. There are other options. Ever here of Premium seats? Yes they are a little more expensive but they are up close. I know that will excite all you Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman fans. Now for those of you who are expecting to see Peter Allen or James Bond then you might be in for a little bit of a shock. According to the website it does contain a lot of profanity, mature subject matter, and politically incorrect language. The play tells the story of two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and their differing accounts of a few harrowing days that changed their lives forever. As I mentioned tickets are selling very well so get your tickets before it is too late.

Customers talk back with Todd
A STEADY RAIN Although it has appealing stars (Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig) this may not be a play for all. I had a
customer call today looking for tickets and she said I just loved Hugh Jackman in THE BOY FROM OZ. I told her I could get her great seats for the date she was looking for...however the previous comment made me ask whether she knew anything about the play.I explained that STEADY RAIN is not a musical and not much like THE BOY FROM OZ.
It is a new play by Keith Huff about love and rage on the streets of Chicago as a domestic disturbance call sends two Chicago cops, friends since childhood, on a harrowing journey that will test their loyalties and change their lives forever. During a routine day, a pair of seasoned policemen, Denny and Joey, return a panic-stricken boy to his guardian. The two protagonists relate their shared story from very different perspectives, giving a picture of family in all its forms, along with the questionable moral choices made in its name. As their lifelong friendship is put to the ultimate test, both men must deal with honor and loyalty in the face of adversity.
It's tough, gritty street language may be shocking to some. It is not recommended for under 15 years of age.
This is not to talk anyone out of what has been hailed as a great new play and must see theatre. It is to prepare people for what they are going in to see.
This particular customer thanked me as she said she was sure that would not be suitable for her and her friend.
If this does suit you, give APPLAUSE a call today to get you the best seats for the best price. Hurray as it is a limited engagement with performances from Sept 10-December 6th, 2009.

Applause Theatre Service Has Learned That Woverine AKA Hugh Jackman & James Bond AKA Daniel Craig Are Ready To Take B'way By Storm!
The New York Post's Michael Riedel is reporting that film stars Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig will team up in a new play this fall on Broadway. The drama that will bring them together, reveals Riedel, is "A Steady Rain" by Keith Huff, is about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.
Theater sources say Craig and Jackman have the potential to match Broadway's biggest box- office champ, Julia Roberts, who sold over $10 million worth of tickets in just 12 weeks in the play "Three Days of Rain" in 2006.
Although "A Steady Rain" is harsh and harrowing, one Broadway expert predicted that even those theatergoers whose tastes run to splashy musicals will want to see it.
Said the expert: "Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman in police uniforms? All the boys will be there!"
The Post reports that Barbara Broccoli who oversees
the James Bond movie franchise, is producing "A Steady Rain." She arrives in New York from Europe this weekend to scout out Broadway theaters, sources told Riedel. The daughter of legendary James Bond producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli, Barbara Broccoli produced "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" on Broadway in 2005.It was expected that Hugh Jackman would return to Broadway in another musical, the rumored 'Houdini', but it now appears that he has chosen a gritty dramatic piece for his next visit. To read the full report in The New York Post, click here.
