After much rumour and speculation it was officially announced today that the new play A Steady Rain will begin previews this fall at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Previews are set to begin on September 10 with an official opening set for September 29. The show which is a limited engagement will conclude it's run on December 6. For months the theatre world has been a buzz about the possibility of two of the world's biggest stars performing on stage together for the first time. According to press notes A Steady Rain,"is a new American play that tells the story of two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and their differing accounts of a few harrowing days that changed their lives forever."Applause is now taking pre-orders for what is sure to be one of the biggest theatrical events of the 2009-2010 season. Call now before it's too late.
