Set to begin previews on April 3rd is Clifford Odets' The Country Girl. Starring Oscar Winners Morgan Freeman and Frances McDormand, with direction by Tony and Oscar winner Mike Nichols, The Country Girl is one of the most anticipated shows of the season. Playwright Clifford Odets' scored a big hit two years ago with Awake and Sing which won the Tony Award for Best Revival.The Country Girl features the title character, Georgie, who is married to actor Frank Elgin, once a great theater star and now down on his luck. When Frank is offered a major role by hotshot director Bernie Dodd, he has the chance to make a major comeback. Being a huge Morgan Freeman fan, I personally can not wait to see it.
