I will be the first to admit that when I heard that somebody was creating a new musical featuring some of Rock's beat songs from the 80's I was a bit skeptical. Now don't get me wrong. I love the music of the 80's. In fact it is probably my favorite area when it comes to music. It's just that over the years the whole "Jukebox Musical" has been hit or miss.
You see for every Mamma Mia and Jersey Boys there is a Good Vibrations and All Shook Up. Therefore when I went to see it for the first time I walked in with a little hesitation. Cut to almost two years later and I have seen the show four times. Looks like I was wrong. If you are looking for a great night in the theatre then Rock of Ages is the show for you.
The one thing I love most about the show except for the music of course is the fact that it is bringing people to Broadway that might not usually come in the first place. Maybe by seeing Rock of Ages that might encourage them to check out other shows as well. Now for those of you who haven't seen the show yet I have good news for you my friends.
From now thru the end of October you can get tickets to see this Tony nominated musical for prices that are......wait for it....below face value. Be advised that this "Special Offer" is not good for Columbus Day Weekend (Oct 8-10) and is subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Rock of Ages on Broadway. You will have the time of your life. I know I did.
