Winner of four 2015 Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, is Sunny Afternoon. Based on Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Kinks, Sunny Afternoon tells the story of their rise to musical royalty in the 60's, up to their turbulent breakup in 1996.Now even though I wasn't even born at the height of their popularity, I have been a fan for as long as I can remember. Therefore you can imagine how excited I was when they announced they were writing a musical about them. Thankfully I wasn't the only one as the show extended prior to it's opening. Here's hoping it sticks around for a long time.
