Paula Vogel To Make Broadway Debut With New Play Indecent

features-large_INDECENT-keyartThat's right theatre fans. One of the theatre's most critically acclaimed playwright's is finally making her Broadway debut after a four decade career. Paul Vogel, who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for How I Learned To Drive, is set to launch her first play on the Great White Way this Spring.

Indecent, which first premiered Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre, will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on April 4, 2017, with opening night scheduled for April 18. So what exactly is the show about? Well according to the shows website, Indecent is inspired by the play God of Vengeance by Sholem Asch’s.

The show, which premiered on Broadway in 1923, was controversial at the time as it dealt with Jewish culture, and featured the first same sex kiss between two young girls. The playwright, as well as the performers, jeopardized their careers, as well as their lives in order to do this dramatic but risky play. Now that sounds like one intense show my friends. Tickets for Indecent are now on sale. Not only that, but we are selling them. Get your tickets to see Indecent on Broadway at the Cort Theatre. Expect the show to be a big contender at next year's Tony Awards. Until next time theatre fans.
