Miss Saigon Back On Broadway-Starts Previews on March 1, 2017

Miss Saigon, one of my all-time favorite shows ever, will begin preview performances on Wednesday March 1, 2017 after an incredibly successful run in London.  This musical revival will officially open to critics reviews on March 23, 2017 at New York's Broadway Theater, the theatre where it first opened in 1991.  It will be a somewhat limited engagement and play until January 14, 2017.

This revival of Miss Saigon is based on the opera Madame Butterfly and will star the two lead actors that were recently in the London production. They are Jon Jon Briones, an actor from the Phillipines and and American actress named Eva Noblezada.  They will both appear for the first time on Broadway.

Miss Saigon takes place in 1975 as the Vietnam War is winding down and in its final days.  An American G.I. by the name of Chris meets and falls for a young 17 year old Vietnamese bar girl by the name of Kim.  As the country begins to fall, Chris and Kim get separated.  Chris returns home to the U.S. and years later makes his way back to find Kim.  For three years Kim goes through very difficult times trying to survive and find Chris again, who also has no idea that he is now a father.

The London Telegraph's theatre critic Dominic Cavendish, is quoted in 2016 as saying "not only one of the most innovative shows of the last quarter century, but one of the most profound and lasting great musicals of the twentieth century.  There is something in the air which means that Miss Saigon is not only right to come back, but it is urgent and necessary that it come back now."

If you are interested in obtaining Miss Saigon tickets at the Broadway Theatre, you might consider a call to the local Broadway ticket experts at Applause-Tickets in New York City.  Right now, we have access to Miss Saigon discount tickets for the next few months, especially some orchestra seats that are toward the back of the theater but with a completely full view of the stage.  Personally, I prefer the front mezzanine seats.  Although they may cost a little more, the view is going to be fantastic for sure.

Miss Saigon is one of the most epic love stories ever shown in the live theatre.  If you want to see something very special on Broadway, we'd love to assist you in making plans to purchase Miss Saigon tickets in the days ahead.

Thanks for taking a moment or two to read the Applause Ticket News blog posts that my colleague James William Bruce and I write on a daily basis.  Cheers and best of luck to the cast and creative team at Miss Saigon, which will start previews on Wednesday March 1, 2017.
