Mean Girls On Broadway
What's that you say? A hit movie turned into a big splashy Broadway musical? That almost never happens. I'm kidding of course. After all, there have been twenty-nine shows since 1995 that have been nominated for Best Musical that were based on successful movies.
Nine of which took home the top prize. Now it's Mean Girls turn. The show, which is based on the 2004 hit film, will begin previews at the August Wilson Theatre on March 12, 2018, with opening night scheduled for April 8. Oh but wait. It get's better.
Writing the book for the new musical, is the film's original screenwriter Emmy winner Tina Fey, with music by fellow Emmy winner Jeff Richmond (30 Rock), and lyrics by Tony nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blond). Direction and choreography is by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw.
Prior to it's Broadway production, the show will play at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. from October 31-December 3. Tickets for both productions are now on sale. Not only that, but we are selling them. Get your tickets to see Mean Girls on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre, and at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. Until next time theatre fans.

All Star Cast To Headline Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero On Broadway
One of my favorite movies of the past year was Manchester By The Sea. I know. I know. What does that have to do with today's blog? Well it's because the film's director and screenwriter, who by the way won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay this year, is also the author of Lobby Hero.
The show, which first premiered Off-Broadway in March 2001, is set to begin previews at the soon-to-be newly renovated Helen Hayes Theatre on March 1, 2018, with opening night scheduled for March 26. Leading the cast are three of Hollywood's hottest young stars. Making his Broadway debut along side Michael Cera (Arrested Development, Superbad), who himself made his Broadway debut three years ago, is Chris Evans (Captain America, Fantastic Four).
Joining them in the celebrated drama is Brian Tyree Henry (The Book of Mormon), who received an Emmy nomination this year for NBC'S breakout hit This Is Us. Set in a Manhattan apartment building during the wee hours of the evening, Lobby Hero follows a security guard in his late twenties, his strict supervisor, and an overbearing cop and his rookie female partner.
Now I know what you're thinking. Who is the lucky young lady who get's to act along side this trio of talented actor's? You're guess is good as mine. Stay tuned to this site for further updates. Get your tickets to see Lobby Hero on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

New Play The Parisian Woman Starring Uma Thurman To Open On Broadway This Fall
Uma Thurman on Broadway in a brand new play? Well I'm sold. The Parisian Woman, which is written by Broadway newcomer Beau Willimon (House of Cards), is set to begin previews at the Hudson Theatre on November 7, with opening night scheduled for November 30.
So what is the show all about? Well according to a show spokesperson, The Parisian Woman is based on Henry Becque’s late 19th century comedy La Parisienne. However the major difference with this new production is that it takes place in present day Washington D.C.
I can just see the fireworks now can't you? Plus it was recently announced that the play will change week to week in order to reflect on the current political climate. Sounds like an episode of Saturday Night Live. Let's hope the actor's are up for it. Starring along side Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman is Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama, Hulk), Tony winner Blair Brown (Copenhagen, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd), Tony Award nominee Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, Amelia), and Marton Csokas (Loving, Into The Badlands).
The show, which is being directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, A Delicate Balance), is set to begin previews at the Hudson Theatre on November 7, with opening night scheduled for November 30. Get your tickets to see The Parisian Woman on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Suddenly the outside world experiences a series of devastating events, prompting an unexpected visit from a old friend. A visit that unbeknownst to them will have soon have a profound effect on their lives.
Now I'm not sure where the title comes into play, but I'm sold. The Children stars BAFTA Award winner Francesca Annis (BBC's Cranford), Olivier Award winner Deborah Findlay (Stanley), and Olivier nominee Ron Cook (Juno and the Paycock), with direction by award winner James Macdonald (Top Girls). London Sensation Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Headed To The Great White Way
Let me just start off by saying that I have never read any of the books in the Harry Potter series, nor have I seen any of the movies. I know. I know. What's wrong with me right? What can I say? It's just never interested me I guess. But who cares what I think. The show is going to be a big fat hit. In fact the London production, won a record breaking nine Olivier Awards, including Best Play of the Year. Will lightning strike twice? If I was a betting man I would say a resounding yes. Tickets for the highly anticipated play are set to go on sale on October 12.
The show, which is written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, who also serves as the show’s director, will officially open at the Lyric Theatre on April 22, 2018, with the first preview to be announced at a later date. It was also reported, that the theatre will go under a major renovation, including the removal of five hundred seats, in order to keep the creator’s vision intact. Tony and Oscar Winner Mark Rylance To Return To Broadway In Farinelli and the King
One of this season’s most highly anticipated shows is Farinelli and the King. The show, which stars three-time Tony Award winner and 2016 Academy Award winner Mark Rylance, is set to begin previews at the Belasco Theatre on December 5, with opening night scheduled for December 17.
The show, which first opened at the Shakespeare’s Globe in 2015 prior to it’s sold out run in the West End, is written by Claire van Kampen, AKA Mrs. Mark Rylance, and directed by John Dove.
So what exactly is the show about? Well I’ll tell you. Farinelli and the King, tells the story of King Philippe V of Spain (Mark Rylance), who suffers from insomnia, leaving him bedridden. The queen, whose prior attempts at a solution have failed, discovers Farinelli, a castrato who's angelic voice mesmerizes all who come in contact with it. However there is only one problem. Will Farinelli, the world renowned singer, give up fortune and fame to remain at the beck and call for Spain’s reigning monarch? I guess you will have to buy a ticket to find out. Tickets for the critically acclaimed new play have been selling like crazy when it was first announced back in May. Get your tickets to see Farinelli and the King on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. Broadway Revival Of A Children Of A Lesser God To Open On Broadway in 2018
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see this show. One of my favorite movies from the 1980’s was Children Of A Lesser God. The film, which was released in 1986, starred Academy Award winner William Hurt, and Marlee Matlin who won the Oscar for Best Actress in her film debut.
Not only that, but the original production which premiered in 1980, won the Tony Award for Best Play. Plus, both of its stars John Rubinstein, and Phyllis Frelich took home Tony’s for their performances as well.
Sounds like this show has some pretty big shoes to fill don’t you think? Thankfully this new production, which stars television and film star Joshua Jackson (The Affair, Dawson’s Creek), and Broadway newcomer Lauren Ridloff, received rave reviews when it opened at the Berkshire Theatre Festival this June.
Previews for the new revival, which is being directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin In The Sun), will begin at Studio 54 on March 22, 2018, with opening night scheduled for April 11. As of now tickets for the show are not on sale. Check back here for future updates. Get your tickets to see Children Of A Lesser God on Broadway at Studio 54. Who knows? You just might see me there. Junk To Premier This Fall On Broadway
Some title huh? I wonder what it could be about? No it’s not set in an old depleted junk yard. Junk, which is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced), takes place during the dog eat dog financial world of the 1980’s. The show, which has been described as a mix between a Shakespearean play and recent Academy Award winning film The Big Short, focuses on America and it’s obsession with money and greed.
Sounds like my kind of show. Previews for the show are set to begin at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on Broadway on October 5, with opening night scheduled for November 2. Directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt), Junk stars Broadway favorite Steven Pasquale (The Bridges of Madison County), as financial wizard Robert Merkin. Bruce Springsteen On Broadway
That's right rock fans. The "Boss" is headed to the Great White Way. Bruce Springsteen, the twenty-time Grammy Award winner will make his Broadway debut this Fall at the Walter Kerr Theatre .And no he is not starring in a revival of Hamlet.
Although who wouldn't pay good money to see that? The show, which is officially being called, "Springsteen On Broadway", will begin performances on October 3, with opening night scheduled for October 12. At the time the show was announced, it was only scheduled to run thru November 26.
However due to high demand and various issues with scalpers, the show was extended until February 3, 2018. That's three months for those of you keeping count. Now while tickets are available for almost every performance, they are not cheap.
Thankfully the theatre is not very big, which means all the seats are good. Get your tickets to see Springsteen On Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Do I smell a Tony in Bruce's future? Stranger things have happened. Until next time rock fans.

Steve Martin's Meteor Shower To Open On Broadway This Fall
Steve Martin on Broadway? Count me in theatre fans. Now before you get too excited, I should probably tell you that Steve Martin is not starring in the show. He is simply the playwright. But don't worry, because the cast that he has assembled for his show is top notch. Making her Broadway debut is non other than comedian and Emmy winner Amy Schumer. Now I've been a big Steve Martin fan for years, but let me tell you the big draw for me is because of her.
Trust me. I am not the only one. Joining her in this new comedy are Tony Award winner Laura Benanti (She Loves Me, Gypsy), Alan Tudyk (Spamalot, Prelude To A Kiss), and Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele, MADtv), who is also making his Broadway debut. See? I told you they were top notch. But wait. It get's better. Directing the show is four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello Dolly, A Bronx Tale). I know. I know. So what exactly is the show all about? Here is a brief synopsis about the show from the show's official site.
Meteor Shower is set in Ojai, California, on a hot night. Corky (Schumer) and her husband, Norm (Tudyk), are having another couple over for dinner. However, Gerald (Key) and Laura (Benanti) aren't looking for a casual evening of polite small talk with new friends. Instead, the two couples find themselves in a marital free-fall matched in velocity and peril only by the smoldering space rocks tearing through the sky.
Sounds like a winner to me. Performances for the show are set to begin at the Booth Theatre on November 1, with opening night scheduled for November 29. By the way for those of you who want tickets to see the show you are in luck. We sell it. In fact we sell tickets to every new play and musical to open this season. Get your tickets to see Meteor Shower on Broadway at the Booth Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

To Buy Or Not To Buy From A Ticket Broker
Now if you're like me, you buy a lot of things online. From Christmas and birthday gifts, to every special occasion in between, online is the easiest and fastest way for all of your shopping needs. I know I prefer sitting at home on the internet, as opposed to spending several hours in a crowded shopping mall.
Well buying theatre tickets is the same way. Now the truth is, that most of the people that purchase tickets for shows in New York don't live here. Which means, the only way to get them is to wait until they get here, or purchase them online. Or for some shows, buy them from a broker like us. Now I'm smart enough to know that we are not the only game in town. In fact in the theatre district alone there are over a half a dozen companies that sell tickets just like us.
Now Applause has been in business for a long time. As a matter of a fact, this year Applause will celebrate it's 30th Anniversary. Pretty impressive I think. However when it all comes down to it, buying tickets from anyone is not something to be taken lightly. It is your money after all. So do your homework. Take your time and find the company that works for you. After all that is what matters anyway. Until next time theatre fans.

Save Chicago On Broadway For Less This Fall
Still haven't seen Chicago yet? Well what are you waiting for people? There is no better time than right now. The show, which is now in it's twenty-first year on Broadway, is one of the most exciting and entertaining shows that you will ever see.
I first saw the show back in 1997 and was blown away. What an amazing night in the theatre. In fact I would even put Chicago in my "Top Ten" of the best Broadway shows I have ever seen. And I've very picky. Now for those of you who still haven't seen the show I have some great news.
It is now possible to see the show at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru December 17, it is for select seats only, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Chicago on Broadway at the Ambassador Theatre. You will love it. Until next time theatre fans.

New Play Latin History For Morons To Begin Performances Next Month
Interesting title don't you think? I wonder what on earth it could be about? Just kidding. Latin History For Morons, which was written by and starring Emmy winner John Leguizamo, will begin previews at Studio 54 on October 19, with opening night scheduled for November 15.
So what is the show about? Well according to a recent press release, Latin History For Morons "is the buried and forgotten history of Latinos in the Americas in this outrageously funny, satirical one-man play about uncovering the truth, and recovering from the past." Sounds like quite the evening.
The show, which first premiered earlier this year at the Public Theatre, is directed by Tony Taccone (Wishful Drinking, Bridge and Tunnel). By the way for those of you who want tickets to see the show you are in luck. We sell it. Well that and every play both On and Off-Broadway. Get your tickets to see John Leguizamo in Latin History For Morons On Broadway at Studio 54. Until next time theatre fans.

A Day In The Life Of A Ticket Broker
Here I sit on a very cool Labor Day trying to figure out what to write about. Oh sure I guess I could write about some of Broadway's hottest shows like Hamilton or Dear Evan Hansen. Oh and don't forget Hello Dolly, starring the one and only Bette Midler.
No thank you. Or I suppose I could write about the upcoming Fall season. Been there. Done that. No I think instead I will write about something that has been on my mind for quite a while now. Now I've been doing this for a long time. Almost nineteen years. Therefore I have seen and done it all.
The truth is that there are hundreds and hundreds of ticket companies out there. We just happen to be one of them. My problem is with the rising cost of theatre tickets. Yes I know that is not news. After all prices have continued to rise year after year. The truth is most people, myself included, don't have hundreds and hundreds of dollars to spend on theatre tickets.
I mean some tickets cost as much as my rent. Now I know what you're thinking? What if I had lot's and lot's of money? Then would I spend the big bucks on the hot shows? I'm not going to lie. I would be very tempted. Very. But until that day happens I will continue to go to the theatre without spending an arm and a leg. Oh and just in case you are wondering, it is possible to go to the theatre and not have to break the bank. You just have to do a little shopping around. It's your money after all.

New York City And The Holidays
Can you believe that Summer is almost over? It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating the 4th of July, and today we celebrate Labor Day. Now I love the holidays. I always have. In fact in just eighty-one days, we will be celebrating my favorite holiday. Thanksgiving.
Followed of course by my second favorite holiday. Christmas. Which for those of you keeping count is only one hundred and thirteen days away. Trust me my friends. They will both be here before you know it. And what better way to celebrate the holidays than by coming to New York and seeing a show.
I mean we are the theatre capitol of the world after all. Now of course no trip to New York would be complete without seeing the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Now in it's eighty-fourth year, it is one show you do not want to miss. But wait. There's more. That's right. Everybody's favorite giant Elf is headed back to the Big Apple once again. Elf The Musical, is set to begin performances on December 13 and play thru December 29. Oh and don't forget George Balanchine's The Nutcracker.
The show, which premiered in 1954, will play from November 24 thru December 31. Oh and don't forget Broadway. As we speak there are thirty-two shows scheduled to play during the holidays. So many choices. Which one will you choose? Also don't forget that Applause is open seven days a week. 365 days a year. That means we are always here to help with all your ticket needs. Until next time theatre fans.
