Uma Thurman on Broadway in a brand new play? Well I'm sold. The Parisian Woman, which is written by Broadway newcomer Beau Willimon (House of Cards), is set to begin previews at the Hudson Theatre on November 7, with opening night scheduled for November 30. So what is the show all about? Well according to a show spokesperson, The Parisian Woman is based on Henry Becque’s late 19th century comedy La Parisienne. However the major difference with this new production is that it takes place in present day Washington D.C.
I can just see the fireworks now can't you? Plus it was recently announced that the play will change week to week in order to reflect on the current political climate. Sounds like an episode of Saturday Night Live. Let's hope the actor's are up for it. Starring along side Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman is Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama, Hulk), Tony winner Blair Brown (Copenhagen, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd), Tony Award nominee Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, Amelia), and Marton Csokas (Loving, Into The Badlands).
The show, which is being directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, A Delicate Balance), is set to begin previews at the Hudson Theatre on November 7, with opening night scheduled for November 30.
