This weeks customer story comes's all the way from Brookline, Massachusetts. Earlier this week I received a call from one of my regular customers who was planning her yearly trip to New York and wanted to see two shows while she was here. Now while she had seen Wicked when she was here four years ago she wanted to see it again since she was bringing her daughter who had never seen it. Last time she had seats in Row J which she loved but thought this time she would like to be a little further back in the middle. I was able to get her great seats in Row Q of the Orchestra right in the center.
Now for those of you who think that row Q sounds far back it is not. Yes the Front Mezzanine is above you but it does not block your view.Plus not only are you elevated slightly but there are still ten more rows behind you. See I told you it wasn't that far back. Anyway now that Wicked was all taken care of it was time to pick her second show. She asked for my opinion and I suggested Billy Elliot. She said that she had loved the movie and had heard good things about the show from a friend of hers who had seen it last year. Once again I was able to get her great seats and at a price that was much lower then she had expected. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from Oakdale, California. Last Saturday I received a call from one of our regular customers who was making plans for her yearly trip into New York with her husband. This year she wanted to see five shows in six days. I've never seen five shows in a month let alone a week but since she only gets to New York once a year she said she wanted to see as much as she can. Her choices were South Pacific,West Side Story,Billy Elliot,The Addams Family, and Wicked. Pretty good line-up don't you think?
Now since both South Pacific and West Side Story had been playing for awhile I told her that not only could I get her great seats but at below face value. Now while Wicked has been playing for over six years it is still the most popular show on Broadway. The good news is that of all the shows we sell Wicked is the one that we always have the most available tickets for in our inventory. Therefore I was able to once again get her great seats at a fair price. Next up was Billy Elliot. For those of you who have not seen it the Front Mezzanine is actually the best view as not only are you elevated but you are closer to the stage then you would be in the last seven rows of the Orchestra.
Last but not least was The Addams Family. Now while it has only been playing for a few weeks it is already a huge seller grossing over a million dollars a week since it began previews back on March 8. I saw the show on it's third preview from Row H in the Orchestra. Now while I loved the show I kind of wish I was further back or even upstairs in the Mezzanine which by the way overhangs very close to the stage. Anyway I found her the seats at the right price and her theatre trip was now complete. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from the great state of Ohio. Now while I am from Illinois myself my coworker Todd is from Ohio so I figured I would throw him a bone and do a blog on a fellow Buckeye. So here we go. Last week I received a call from a very nice lady who is planning a trip to New York for Easter weekend. Besides doing a little shopping she wanted to try to squeeze in a show while she was here.
I asked what she wanted to see and she picked Mamma Mia since she loved the movie and was dying to see the Broadway production. I told here that while it it is still one of Broadway's most popular shows it should not be a problem as it has been playing here for over eight years. I also told her that not only could I get her great seats but I could also get them for her at below face value. She said that would be great and asked my opinion on where is the best place to sit. I told her that my favorite place to sit is always the Front Mezzanine.
For one thing you are elevated so you don't have to worry about people sitting in front of you blocking your view plus with a show like Mamma Mia it is better to sit upstairs as it is quite loud as well. She told me that she would leave it in my hands and trusted me that I would get her the best seats. By the way I got her second row center in the Front Mezzanine for $110 each. That is $15 less then you would spend at the theatre. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from upstate New York. Believe it or not but a lot of our customers come from the Tri-State area. So anyway it was one of my first calls of the day and I had a woman who was coming into the city that day with her family and wanted to know if she could get tickets to see The Lion King on Broadway. I asked her how many seats she needed and she told me she needed seven.
Since it was the same day she knew it might be tough so she was willing to split up if need be. Well not only did I find her seats but I was able to get all seven seats together and in the center of the Front Mezzanine which if you haven't been to the Minskoff Theatre it is just as good if not better than the Orchestra. Well to say she was happy was an understatement. I asked her if she needed anything else and she asked if I could suggest some restaurants for her and her family to go to after the show.
Having lived in New York for eighteen years I know plenty of places to go where not only would she get a good meal but at a price that would be well within their price range. She did have six other people to feed after all. Well after a little investigating I found a great place and they were on their way to a wonderful evening in the city. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Happy Broadway Customers Are Our Business
I've been selling tickets all my life. Well over 32 years now.
Although today is Thanksgiving Day, we are open for business mostly to make sure everyone gets into the theater on time. Holidays are sometimes hectic in New York City and people sometimes get sick or lose their tickets and the like. If we were closed then we might not be available to help out if something went wrong with a performance for a show today.
It turns out that a customer lost their tickets for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular for one of today's performances. Since street traffic is terrible these days with holiday shopping in full swing, I decided to meet them at the security area directly in front of Radio City. After I met up with this nice family at the theater, I asked the wonderful people that work at Radio City Guest Relations to help them get seated in the theater in the seat locations we sold to them. Years ago doing this was kind of a pain but with technology and the database information to prove to Radio City that our company Applause indeed did sell this client the seats, we were able to make this family very happy.
We may not have made too many new ticket sales today but we sure made this one family's outing a special one. Selling something to someone is important of course but on this Thanksgiving Day, when I got hugs from Mr. and Mrs. Love and their 3 kids, it really made my day.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
