With the holidays fast approaching I'm sure most of you like me have been racking our brains trying to figure out what to get our loved ones for Christmas this year. Luckily we have the Internet to do most of the work for us. I mean let's face it. The last thing any of us want to do is spend an afternoon in an over crowded mall in the middle of winter. I know I don't. Which brings me to the reason for today's blog. Buying on the web. We all do it. Matter of fact I do all of my shopping on the web. Even for theatre tickets and I live here.
Oh sure I could walk over to the theatre and buy them myself. I do work in Times Square after all. Well what if you don't have that luxury? The truth is most people that come to New York to see a Broadway show don't live here. Most are coming for the first time. Therefore who do you choose when it comes time to purchase your tickets. As we speak there are hundreds of companies that sell tickets to both On and Off-Broadway shows as well as other events in New York and Nationwide. In New York City alone there are currently thirteen companies licensed by the State of New York that are authorized to sell tickets. We just happen to be one of them.
Having worked at Applause for almost eight years now I have sold tickets to hundreds of shows to both travel agents and consumers alike. The one thing I always tell people as that whether they order from us or someone else try to find a company that allows you to speak to a live person. I can't tell you how many people use us time and time again because they know that when they call us they are going to speak to a live person. Trust me. It makes a difference. The truth is when it comes to buying tickets it is important to take your time. Do your homework. Then choose the one that works best for you. After all it's your money. Until next time theatre fans.
