Sweat Comes To Broadway March 4, 2017

Tickets are now on sale for an exciting new play called Sweat, which arrives at New York's Studio 54 to begin preview performances on March 4, 2017.  Official opening night for critics to review the show will be on March 26, 2017.

After a soldout run at the Public Theatre downtown, Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's new play is ready to bring about great excitement to this years Best Play category at this years Tony Awards in June.

Sweat tells us about a lifelong group of friends that over the years have shared laughs, drinks and many secrets as they work together on the factory line together.  The audience will get to witness a time when job layoffs, protests and the formation of picket lines start to erode the basic trust amongst the group.  Friends are finding themselves now going against one another to in order to survive.

Sweat is directed by Kate Whoriskey with scenice design by John Lee Beatty.  Costumne Design is by Jennifer Moeller with lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski.  Projection Design is by Jeff Sugg and both Music and Sound Design is by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen

Charled Isherwood of The New York Times called Sweat "scorching, superb.  A vital contribution to contemporary drama.  Keenly observed and suprisingly funny, this compassionate, clear-eyed play throbs with heartfelt life."    The critics from Time Out New York, The Wall Street Journal and The New Yorker had glowing things to say about Sweat as well.

Many shows that start out at New York's Public Theater often become popular hits when transfering to the larger Broadway Theater venues.  I'm personally looking forward to catching a preview performance of Sweat and hope you'll consider doing so as well.

Right now, my company Applause-Tickets is offering discount pricing for Sweat at Studio 54 through April 30, 2017.  Once the show officially opens to positive reviews, it is likely these discounts will go away.  If you need assistance with obtaining Sweat tickets at Studio 54, please consider a call to Applause-Tickets at 212-307-7050.  We are open 24/7 to help.

Enjoy sweat at New York's Studio 54.
