That's right theatre fans. The first casualty from this year's Tony nominations has found it's first victim. Amélie, which is based on the 2001 film, will play it's final performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre on May 21. When it closes, it will have played a total of twenty-seven previews, and fifty-six regular performances. Now while the show received mix reviews, I thought it might have a chance of sticking around due to the popularity of it's star, Tony nominee Phillipa So (Hamilton). However after it received zero Tony nominations, the writing as they say, was on the wall.
Now for those of you who still want to see the show, there is still time. Plus if you call right now, you can get tickets at prices that can't be beat. Get your tickets to see Amélie at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway. Until next time theatre fans.
