Exciting news theatre fans. One of Broadway's most beloved musicals is headed back to the stage. Dreamgirls, which first premiered on Broadway in 1981, opened to rave reviews last November at the Savoy Theatre in London. The show, which stars television star Amber Riley, (Glee, Dancing With The Stars) is scheduled to open on Broadway sometime in the Spring of 2018. As of now it hasn't been announced if Ms. Riley will recreate her critically acclaimed performance.
However based on her reviews, it would be foolish on the producers part not to allow her the chance to make her Broadway debut in the role of Effie White. Fingers crossed. So far no theatre, or performances dates have been announced. Stay tuned to this blog for future updates. Until next time theatre fans.
